Good video, I've owned a Tag for 17 years, still going strong, quartz tho, but now I won't buy Quartz . Ignorance people slagging the brand, but you bang on, when you say about them using Quartz in a lot of their lines. I think they shooting themselves there a bit. Really like this Aquaracer,

I can’t agree with you more with the bezel- it’s like the black paint look of a bmw in my opinion ..... or something idk how to describe it it’s just gorgeous- just got one of these a few weeks ago and just love it.

I’m buying a tag heuer after the troubles finish so many chooses . Watch snobs put this manufacturer down but they own Rolex ,s etc I’m a mechanic and have a limit on my first and only automatic watch I love the chooses tag heuer have love your watch great review

Because it has a plastic spacer inside, has an ETA mechanism and generally speaking it's a super lame watch. I have one and a brand unopened one as well (perks of gifts)

You are so right. Tag could make the best watch in the world, the haters would still say it was crap!. Unfortunately they only have themselves to blame by putting cheap £20 Ronda quartz movements in some of there watches which there is I must admit no excuse for!!. If you are going to make a decent quartz watch put a £100 thermo compensating movement in the thing. It's not rocket science. The latest calibre 5 watches are far far better than earlier models and is well worth the money.

Watch snobs hate Tag Heuer’s aggressive marketing and the company’s dramatic rise in prominence. Tag Heuer is steam rolling over many other brands and this does not sit well with watch critics.

What do you think about it after 11 months now? I think mine is a piece of... crap? 😄 and I have 2, selling one but one will keep as a reminder of what this is versus a... Victorinox Alliance Automatic black ⚫ ... it's a childish watch, with a lame mechanism and a plastic spacer

I have this and it’s really a great watch - looks great, usually on time and bracelet wears very nice. Only negative is it’s kinda large on my smaller wrist .

I have a 2013 Aquaracer chrono with the grooved bezel...l wonder if l can swap out the grooved one and replace it with the polished ceramic...my only real complaint with this watch is the crown will not screw down anymore...

And this Tag is the one I have in mind either in Black, Blue, or I am sure I have seen a Red version of it as well (or did I dream that?), maybe it was an exclusive. I love mine. I shopped around for a few months before I pulled the trigger on this one. I can honestly say it’s as nice or nicer than entry level Rolex or Brietling. All Swiss Automatic, Saphire crystal, ceramic Bezel. Aquaracer held its own for thousands less. I just could not justify the extra money when this one was so nice. I still want a Rolex and Brietling don’t get me wrong but the ones I want are Navitimer and Yachtmaster 2 and I’m just not there yet.

Enjoyed your review. Agree, the ceramic bezel looks amazing on that watch. Very sharp looking watch. I am looking at a Longines Hydroconquest and they finally have upgraded to ceramic bezels on their newer models but those are currently hard to find and quite a bit more expensive than their older aluminum bezel insert models. I am also looking to buy an Oris Aquis Date Green Dial/Bezel insert when I can get the money.

Like you, I have the Tag Aquaracer and Longines Hydroconquest (both in blue dial, steel strap) at the top of my list. The Hydroconquest seems a better bang for buck seeing as it has a better movement and lower price as well as anti-reflective coating on BOTH sides of the sapphire glass. The steel strap on the Aquaracer is better but not by much... Decisions, decisions, decisions.

@@maxtroy8511 Definitely go with the Longines in-house caliber with the 25200 bph and 64h power reserve instead of the Tag with the Sellita at 38h power reserve.

Have to chip in, a bit funny since i have the same dilemma as you. Cant really decide between this tag, green aquis or the ceramic hydroconquest... Bought the maurice Lacroix aikon o a couple months ago which i am really satisfied with. I do think however the aquis or tag Will be my next choice!

Honestly, I would take the Ginault every day. In retrospect, the Tag bracelets are a little cheaper feeling, the case design a little clumsy and having owned a load of Tags since, I really don't rate them, unless you go for an Autavia or something in the higher ranges. Ginault, to me is pretty much the best bang for your buck watch you can get. I'd opt for it over most Oris at $2-2.5k and Oris is my favorite overall Brand.

Alex Strikoudis in a recent vid a different guy (german youtuber ‚Federhaus‘) measured +- 5sec on his! which keeps it in certified chronometer range without even being one! So it‘s very good! Hope this helps!

This watch is fake. The first biggest tell is the 12 O'clock pearl, which isn't like in the gen watch. The second tell is the ceramic bezel which isn't lining up properly in the corners + the numbers engraving aren't straight. The third thing is the color of the markers, it's yellowish, gen is always white. There are more tells but you get the point.

You can get that same Sellita SW200-1 or ETA 2824-2 movement in 400 dollar watches too. The 28800 bph beat rate doesn't make it special. It's not an in-house caliber and the quartz movements they use are japanese miyota/citizen movements found in 150-200 dollar watches. Tag Heuer really likes to cut corners and pretend that they're a premium brand when in fact for example Seiko Presage/Prospex are much much better value for money and quality for a lot cheaper.

Well here's the difference; premium materials around the watch. You don't get that ceramic bezel, or the attention to design details on a Seiko Presage or Prospex. The movement plays into it, but it's the overall package you're paying for.
