So the red pop up tab on the unit itself is to let you see where the disk will be shot. Works in concert with the red button on the remote (mode selector), as it can shoot the disks either in a static position, or randomly anywhere across its arc. The red tab lets you know exactly where the disk should be going, or can be depressed to up the difficulty so you don't know where it's shooting. It's pretty nifty all around. I thrifted the unit, power supply, two dozen disks, and the original instructions(!!!), without box, for $4. I bought the remote off of eBay for 10-15. Not really worried about finding an Element, any blaster with accufakes makes this super fun.

Two things. Firstly, I'm loving the new camera setup. Secondly, this was my first blaster as a kid. I had an extremely cool friend when I was in elementary school who had tons of blasters and we would play with them and our trusty Legos whenever we would hang out. For my birthday in third grade, he got this for me and it is still a dear possession of mine simply because of the heart that was put into it. Walcom, its a very cool find.

huh, well thank you walcom! i had found an element a couple days ago, just the blaster sadly, and was having a heck of a time figuring out what it was because, like yours, it isnt marked on the blaster itself. I did eventually figure it out by scrolling through the nerf wiki, but the wiki describing the element says nothing about the disk target. was sad when i saw there was no tag back for it, but thats been remedied :D

I found an element in a goodwill the other day. The first thing I ever thrifted. I already modded it by adding a strongarm spring to it as well as the stock spring. Shoots very well.

I love this thing. I have thrifted two of these and both came with remotes. I set up one and me and the little guy each take a remote and take turns launching disks. So yes the remotes are interchangeable at least in the case of the two I have. I recommend if you find these even incomplete to pick them up and get one running. Tons of fun... oh and also look out for the disks, they make great frisbees/melee weapons.

You definitely should try and make the scope attach to the disk shot itself

in terms of the remote, considering that it uses IR, you can basically overwrite it with a phone that has a IR sensor since many (in my case the V20) can make custom remotes/buttons so you can likely find something that'll make it tick. course you can also just shove the internals to a bigger remote or use a universal remote lol

All I thought of when i first saw this: Better Captain America Shield. I am assuming that you, Walcom, will turn it into some sort of riot shield/Tower shield for your Gundam, if so I recommend 1. overvolt AND upgrade the flywheels (If possible) , 2. try modifying the discs to make them lighter ( I.E carving a 1 1/2 in. hole in the center {For SCIENCE}) and 3, obviously a paintjob
