Sounds like you got alot going on in the back ground trains and fire sirens lol great video glad you went with the names

Ya there was that day. The trains are a pretty regular thing. It's a main line from Buffalo across the state heading east. They are sure a lot of trains that run daily on them. I guess I'm just used to hearing them that I don't notice the trains. The fire siren has been busier this year due to a dual response with the next town's fire dept over due to lack of manpower. Same issues all volunteer fire departments are dealing with. Otherwise, their fire siren never went off much which is a good thing. Thanks for watching and commenting.

We have the same weather here. I tell everyone welcome to upstate NY. if you don't like the weather give it 15 minutes it will change. We have 2 seasons here. Summer and mud season. I too rubber band my bull calves. I band them very early in their life. Being a one man show they are easier to catch then. I waited one year and said never again. Too stressful on the calves and me trying to catch them. Most of mine calve in the Spring. Had a surprise heifer calf born in November. Her and mom are in the barn. I see your reasoning the way you tag calves. I put the sire and dam on the back of the tag and on the front, I put their name, number and birth date. Mine are all Lowline Angus so they all look alike. Not telling you what to do, just the way i do it. I like to see different ways to do things to try and learn.

Lol I tell people the same thing about the weather here. They always laugh at me. lol Your way of tagging makes sense as well. I keep a spread sheet with each cow on the farm. It has their tag number, name if they have one, birth date, castration date, weaning date and butcher date. When we switch over to a cow/ calf operation I might change things up. But will see. I'm like you though I like to see what everyone else is doing and maybe learn something. I like rubber banding, but I will be honest I have missed the count of 2 before and I don't like when that happens. So, the only reason I would switch is because then you know for sure you got both of them. This one was easier to count this time. I'm thinking because he was a little bit older and larger than when I normally do them.

You know Matt I haven't farmed other than vegetable gardening in nearly 30 years and I still check the weather at least 3 times a day. We have winters down here sort of like y'all with the exception that y'all have more snow. One week it's cold and the next it's like spring time. About 2 years or so ago, I remember I had stuff budding out in the middle of February. I hope you, Stacy and Logan are having and will have a great new year.

We are back the winter side of the rollercoaster as we speak. Its low 30's and snow flurries. But very windy today. An hour east of us there expecting 3 feet of lake effect snow over the next 3 days. I try not to over check or look too far out on days when it comes to the weather because it changes so much around here.

I can't believe you don't have any snow. I haven't lived in nw Pennsylvania since 1983 and I remember having snow by Christmas and keeping it until mid March. Seems like you don't get the snow like we had.

It's supposed to be coming back this weekend. Will see how much we get this time around. I can even remember back to a time when I was a young teenager having a lot of snow for months on end and consistent cold weather. I feel like the weather pattern has changed over the last 5 years or so. Thanks for watching the video.

Musta been talking to Clyde.😅😅 I still like Harry and Lloyd.😢😢 All your background noise reminds me of home, only not as loud 😂😂

Does it sound the same on the North side of the tracks as it does on the South side? 🤣

@Cobbhillfarms lot louder over here. Fire whistle too.

@@brandonhoad9033 I bet it is. It depends on the wind as to whether I hear the fire whistle or not. Sometimes I can barely hear it other times it sounds like its mounted to the top of my house.
