Last year I took inspiration from how you carried the BV 500 and passed it along to a friend who needs a UL pack the rest of the year. My packs are huge and are purchased to swallow a canister. Her carry empty during day made a big difference in her hike where there were strict food storage rules. Note during the day her food was in a Ursack in case she was separated from her pack. Great gear breakout from you.

Your TRT series was the deciding factor when I was researching which intermediate length trail to hike in 2022. I was almost all in on the Superior Hiking Trail... But you changed my mind. It's cool to see you posting about it again as I make my final preparations. Thanks for sharing.

So good to see you here again! I followed you on the PCT and the TRT. You guys said you both liked the east side of the TRT better. Maybe when you do your water video you could talk about that.

That’s a great idea. I will probably add that in to my TRT informational video! Thank you!

Luv ur videos...they're always informative and entertaining! Never done a thru-hike but I have camped since I was a child. Never considered using an air mattress until about 15 yrs ago .....that was a game-changer!

The air mattresses are way more comfortable!

I love the Outdoor Vitals pillows. I have had several Sea to Summit pillows fail after very little use. I got an OV pillow as a bonus along with a jacket I bought from OV, and it is going into its third backpacking season now. I also prefer their valve design to the Sea to Summit valve configuration. You’re a trooper sticking with the Z-rest sleep pad! I agree with you about the convenience, but it’s really hard for me to get good rest on one. Believe me, I have tried. Blowing up an inflatable is a pain in the butt, and also knowing that a failed inflatable gives NO padding is a big concern. But the cushion and the warmth make me generally carry an inflatable sleeping pad.

I see myself moving to an inflatable pad in the future. I have one that I have used in the past, but who knows when I will break it out again!!

I carry a cut down ZLite on the PCT- which I use for naps and stretching and kneeling. And, the horror, I ALSO carry an inflatable (sea to summit) for sleeping at night. No regrets at all.

How come your BV500 is empty when you are on trail?

Great videos! To the point, but with your cute personality it's easy to listen too. Don't need any gear, but hoping you can help me with info for the westside of the Rim. It looks like a couple of long days with no water. Can you share your trip from Aloha to Donner on your PCT? Thanks, and I almost hope you don't answer, as long as your on the trail! LOL

Are they required on the whole TRT or just Desolation? With that, I always took my bear canister the whole way around. It was just easier. Hanging my food is a lot of work.
@JenniferMabus2 жыл бұрын
Just part, but it’s smart to carry on the whole thing! And I agree with you.

My favorite hiking influencer! You really are very practical, except I wish you would carry a shotgun when you're in bear country.
@JenniferMabus2 жыл бұрын
Imagine me slinging around a shotgun!? Hahah but guns aren't allowed on many of the trails I hike.
