I really miss Aiping. I used to train with her many years ago, when she was in CT and she truly is amazing. No nonsense, tough teacher. She sees everything you’re doing wrong, and doesn’t let you get away with bad form. Yet, she is very nice and a wonderful teacher. A true treasure.

This lady is incredible. She demonstrates the martial art principles of taichi with DETAILED explanation of the body mechanics without resorting to nebulous concepts such as Chi and Yin and Yang. Her explanations do expose these concepts with practical examples. Very few Internal martial arts masters are so transparent and honest. Despite her struggles with the English language, she expresses a clarity and perspective that is admirable and at the same humbling. Have practiced taichi for many years. Watched KZbin videos recently and her explanation of the martial aspects is the best. 😊

@@killianbyrne5647 I am one of her students. I am 6'3, 300 lbs; the first time she told me to really try to win while pushing hands she was able to ragdoll me. It wasn't me full on attacking her, but the fact that she was able make herself both insubstantial to my touch while finding all the weaknesses in my alignment to take complete control was truly a revelation and I haven't thought about martial arts the same way since. I had pretty strong root back then, 1 year later I was pushing with a national champion (losing 9/10 times), and I could tell that even though he was also extremely good, she is just another creature altogether, completely mindblowing. It is an absolute privilege to feel it even once, she has moved away since but the impact of that single moment I will remember til the day I pass.

She's amazing. She's less than 100lbs but she feels like she has 200lbs behind her. I wasn't ready for her to move away and give me her school so early. I thought I had another 10 years of training with her. I will never be her and never have her skill so I can only be me and develop my own skill. But that's also in keeping with her giving me her school. She's always said gongfu is something everyone has to develop out of their own self, not mimic off someone else. You only have it if you develop it from your own understanding of it.

@@AipingTaiChi trust me, I 100% get it. That's why I can see it. And our job is to just represent as best as we can. "Good" is relative. My master said teachers are born not made. You have technicians and fighters, most can't do both and being either doesn't mean you are a good instructor. However a good teacher can make both and do neither. There is a reason she picked you and it's more than just convenience. You have two different bodies, purpose and karma. Just be your best version I'm sure she is very proud.

@@damianneveThank you 🙏♥️😊 It's so true about what makes a good instructor. My degree is in economics from University of Chicago, which has the most Nobel prize winners in their economics faculty than any other school in the world. I took classes with 2 Nobel prize winners. They were the worst teachers I ever had. They may have been great academics and researchers but TBH, they had no idea how to teach undergrads. Tai Chi is the same way. That's why Master Aiping never recommended reading books to her students. She used to say, the 5 hours you spend reading the book about things you won't understand because your skill hasn't developed to make sense of it, you should have just spent that 5 hours practicing your Tai Chi 😅
