This video may have saved me. I started learning Tai Chi in December. Each lesson leaves me with back pain, and despite knowing that it must be my standing position, I am struggling to understand how to resolve it. The visualisation of the ball and the sitting exercises are both very helpful, as I have chronic back pain and a very weak knee from a previous ACL surgery and accidents. After watching and following this first time, I already more openness and ease in my lower back. I am really excited to apply this in next week's lesson! Thank you so very much!

Thank you Sifu for the detailed explanation of our Kua and Yao, and for the exercise stretches towards the end. In my personal experience after I learned tree stance and started standing more in alignment, I've realized my sitting posture was very poor and always yielded a sore lower back especially on my left side. So I had to apply this straight spine theory to my sit posture, I'm still working on it but it has helped me.connect a lot of dots and this video helps put it all together. Much appreciated the work you put out!

Wonderful video. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a way that's easy to understand. I'm a Sports Therapist by training and have been practising Yang 108 for many years. In that time, I've faced confusion with regard to the anatomical references because I don't speak Mandarin. This video has helped clear much of that confusion as you have clearly explained the relationship between the Mandarin and English meanings of various parts of the human body, It is indeed a valuable resource and an important piece of the puzzle that is Taiji. Thank you again.

This is very good insight. Unfortunately, 99% of instructors don't know this because the combat aspect of tai chi is not taught. So they pass down bad tai chi. Tai chi is called grand ultimate fist for a reason. Body alignment is crucial to generate power and transfer energy no matter what posture you're in. In other words, the combat aspect of tai chi training is the health benefit.

I'm so sorry to to hear about your shoulder. I know it's really hard to recover from shoulder surgery. I recommend trying Qigong. There are great exercises that can increase the range of your shoulder.

I have a question about that example of the ball in the pelvis, were is the bal exatly located, do i feel that in the front or in the back, between the hipbones or ? Thq
@AipingTaiChi
@AipingTaiChi 10 ай бұрын
I feel the ball nestled down in my pelvis and fills all around the hips and abdomen, front, back and sides. It's like a ball in your center that controls the motions of your legs and arms
