Thanks David for that bit at the end of the video when you talked about teaching it to a friend, now I can apply those same principles for my favourite moves!

Dude, this is a hidden gem...not only the Tai Chi itself is excellente, but the movement itself seems to be imbued with David's humble energy. You can clearly see he is going for genuine humbleness and if you listen closely you will also feel it. So you're taking the journey from the ego to the heart. Alright. This is wonderful.

Thank you so much for your tai chi for back pain. I had an operation on my back 6 years ago and felt it was recurring, i really did not want another op so started looking for alternatives. I started tai chi at home about 5 months ago and practice daily. My doctor advised me to try tai chi specifically for back pain. I feel so much better and the pain in my back and leg has gone. Thank you again.

This one just popped up today, so I followed you and hope you see this comment. I have lower back pain, but much worse is arthritis in my neck/upper spine (diagnosed) and I have extremely limited head rotation without pain. Are any of your wonderful videos aimed at helping head and neck issues? I just saw one pop up in the sidebar that says "Upper Body Chi" - I will try that, as well. Thank you, David - your videos have been a lifesaver, especially since our gyms are all closed right now (although I was following you before that).

It's GREAT to know "YOU ARE HEAR/LISTEN". I watched video on knee issue on my iPhone, thanks. [ I couldn't find on computer you tube yet] ?. I still like to learn what movements are benefits more/better & what not to do/try.....etc. * I have been watch Jake Mace for few years, & suddenly I found you & Jake made video together & it was shock of my day, competitor(?) work together(?). It was very nice to watch. Actually I wrote to jake/company & ignored or lost?...there it scares-ed me to take lessons on line, give them money.....etc. I still feel positive, one of these days I can be use/trust to with on line lessons. Just I don't have control & get lost is the problems[words I don't like]. Thankful that you guys share videos on line/you tube.

Inja, you've given me an idea for another class: Tai Chi for knee pain. In fact, a lot of people have knee pain, and many are worried that they'll get knee pain from Tai Chi. Stay tuned for the next video about this... thanks for the inspiration! :-)

Hi there. Thank your reading. Where I go to TC-class, mainly Qi Gong, 2-ladies just registered [ one is 65, other one 77, one more-over weight one ], both for back & Knee problems. They do what we all do like copy-cat, & I always wonder how it will work. There have to be a certain way? or ?. If you can show/tell us what/why/how?, it will be very helpful for many, & me to help others. Thanks DDR.

Thank you, David-Dorian! I found you through Great Courses Essentials of Tai Chi & Qigong. I appreciate your patient, light-hearted teaching style. You've inspired me to sign up for a Tai Chi class at my old college. I'm currently reading your book, "Exercising the Soul". Can you recommend any further reading pertaining to applying Tai Chi principles to stressful Western life? BTW, Tai Chi has been helping me with my chronic back pain, as well as, my anxiety level. I'm already noticeably calmer and more relaxed even though I've been playing Tai Chi for only a few weeks. Peace!

Dear Ted, Thank you for your kind comments. I'm so glad that Tai Chi is helping with your back - and with looking at life with a Tai Chi philosophy! I would recommend any book or video by Paul Read, aka The Teapot Monk. He is funny, artistic and I think captures the heart of original Tai Chi thought. Good Luck - and please come join my class sometime. I offer free classes online (live) every Monday morning - or you would be most welcome as a guest in one of my regular Academy classes. Just let me know and I will send you a link!

Great, thanks! I think I'll start with "The Manuel of Bean Curd Boxing:..." which was in the bibliography of The Great Courses guidebook. Yes, I'd be most interested in taking a class. By all means, please send me the link! I just did about 30 minutes of Tai Chi and ready for more. It's so relaxing!

Hi David-Dorian, I'd like to try the Beginners Class on Wed at 3:30 Pacific. I've primarily been doing a VERY simplified Tai Chi called, Tai Chi Chih (by Justin Stone) which I learned on PBS while working in other Tai Chi moves that I've been learning. We have here in Chicago, the Taoist Tai Chi Society that offers lessons too, which I've been considering as well. Thank you for this opportunity to study with you! Looking forward to it, Peace!!
