I think of it as searching through the point of contact for the path of least resistance so I can send energy back to them while glancing them off. That combined with a unified body creates a throwing effect but perhaps not the exact same as what you're doing here.

awesome....in the future can you demonstrate Tai Chi response against common techniques like boxing clinch, may Tai clinch, double leg take down , bear hug, full Nelson etc...
