Hey I wanted to say thank you for this video. It has helped me so much. I have been dealing with this pain for about 2 years. It felt like muscles around my tailbone were being crunched when I sat down. Doing this exercise while flexing out my glutes seemed to pull the muscles out to where they should be. After about a week of this my pain is nearly non existent. Thank you!
@AnaM-gu5mv3 жыл бұрын
Hi, was your coccyx misaligned or it was just the inflammatory? I have been dealing with this issue myself for almost a year now and it really frustrates me because I can't sit comfortably. Can you help me in this regard?
@jordanballou38653 жыл бұрын
@@AnaM-gu5mv Hey Ana. My coccyx was and is misaligned. I go to a chiropractor who specializes in muscle activation once a month now. I do this exercise from this video alongside my monthly visit and it has helped to keep the issue down. My chiro has found that my coccyx tends to get pulled to the right and that messes everything up down there. He is able to push it back in place and for a couple weeks it's amazing but tends to start to move back before my next appointment. I think I will start making an appointment every 2 weeks to help the coccyx relearn and hold the correct position again. I'm so sorry you are suffering from this same thing. It has taken me a couple years to figure out the root of my issue. I am 90% better than I was a year ago though thanks to stretching and exercises my glutes, hip flexors, and lower back. I believe my issue came from a weakness somewhere in there. A year or so back I was unable to sit in any way because the pain was so bad. I am sitting now and only feel a barely minor annoyance in my tailbone. Forcing your muscles to activate again can be a long journey but if you keep exercising all the muscles I listed before and go to a chiropractor to have your coccyx aligned I believe you can get to a point where it no longer bothers you :) Also making sure to keep inflammatory foods out of your diet as much as possible will help I believe!

I feel lucky that I found your posting. The exercise works for me, even though I just started it. The pain is the result of sitting for long periods of time on this great-looking courtroom chair, however, I new real desk chair is on the way. The heel press feels great. I'm increasing the time everyday. I have spinal stenosis, and that may have a connection, but the heel press feels good, and does not interfere with other spinal issues. Thank you very much!

Actually according to Dr tailbone injury has to be healed by complete rest as in continuous bed rest ....no sitting at all..... except while eating.....that to is difficult, because one cannot sit with a tailbone fracture......so one has to stand and eat or use a dough nut cushion as per advise.......but the fracture resolves only by bed rest 24/7

How? Rollerskating/ rollerblading with no hip- butt skate pads. The butt pads do not show through mini skirts and shorts, unless I want them too. But while impatiently waiting for my orthopedic appointment, I am becoming a master at headstands on my inversion yoga chair and aireal yoga silk. It temporary takes pressure off the tailbone. My zero gravity chair made my tailbone hurt worse but helps either the Sciatica or pulled muscle in my left gluteous. Been wearing my skate butt pads all the time.

I have levator ani syndrome and i believe this symptom is quite related to this tail bone alignment. Let me try this exersise and hope this would work.

What imaging is good to "see" whats going on? or does all imaging come back unremarkable?

i did this and experienced some pain while doing the exercise but only on one side between the coccyx and hip. is this an indication of something that it is working or not?

I injured my tailbone 15 years ago but super badly. My tailbone has now been hurting for the past 2 years after sitting - So if it does hurt when I do this - what kind of person should I go see? Chiro... ?

I’m a pole dancer and I either bruised or fractured (not sure which) doing a butterfly and I don’t have the option for bed rest because of my job. I’m going to try this and comment if it worked
@grayfairy88882 жыл бұрын
I do get a pinch, so maybe it is fractured after all. Time to go see the doctor where he’ll tell me to just let it heal 😅

I am almost 2 months post op from a coccyectomy. In serious pain worse than before surgery. I thought years after the break was bad but it doesn't compare to this. My surgeon keeps saying I'm not healed..but every other person's "good coccyectomy removal" story is so short in terms of recovery time. Also am using a cane due to shakiness in my right leg. Have you ever heard anything like this?? I'm almost to the point I regret having surgery!

I tried this. I think its great. Only issue is i had a surgery from a torn acl, followed by a meniscus tear years ago, so it’s too much pressure on my knees 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

I don't really feel anything in that area when I squeeze my heels together, but when I actually release the pressure there's a tremendous amount of pain in my coccyx area.

When I pressed my heels, only left leg shakes. No shake from my right leg. What does this imply?
@MyDogIsYoshi3 жыл бұрын
One leg is stronger than the other. No need to worry. Unconscious favoritism sometimes happens after trauma. If you have any known leg trauma, that can be why.
@tonygoh14133 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the explanation, @MyDoglsYoshi. After pressing my heels for the first time, I could feel the soreness at one spot at the left side of the tailbone. After pressing my heels for a few more times for the past 3 days, I don't feel the soreness anymore. Now, my left leg and right leg are shaking together slightly when I press my heels. Maybe both legs are having the same strength now. 😊 Really happy to learn this technique. Thank you, Dr. Justin. Appreciate it a lot.
