Join us for an INSANE street food tour in Taiwan's capital city and street food HEAVEN: Taipei!!! We are going to take you away from the tourist crowds to show you the BEST Taiwanese foods and restaurants you've never seen before! Today, we are going to eat what the LOCALS love to eat! Let's go! 加油 !
We start our epic day of eating and exploring at an UNKNOWN restaurant for the most incredible bowl of braised pork rice 滷肉饭 and tofu for breakfast. Come early, this place gets PACKED! Next, we check out a beautiful temple, Xingtian Temple 行天宫 to see Taiwanese culture in action. This temple banned the use of burning incense to combat air pollution. Awesome! Then, we take you to a spot where old concepts meet new design: Addiction Aquatic Development. Here you can have get an incredibly CHEAP deal on sushi, sashimi, grilled seafood and MORE! We also checked out the live seafood area while we were there to have TUNA. Now that we're SUPER full, we take a rest at Lin An Tai Ancestral Home, a peaceful museum and garden where you can observe one of the best preseved Chinese homes in all of Taiwan! For dessert (of course) we head to a shop that specializes in Wheel Cakes 红豆餅, one with red bean and one with custard. And how could you resist?! They are so CHEAP and FRESH! To end our CRAZY day of eating, we head to a Michelin recommended (bib gourmand) street food stall that fries meat 烤肉! We ordered beef & clams, Taiwan-style! As a tip, wash it all down with a Taiwan beer! Taipei is a food-lovers DREAM come true!

I can't get enough of your videos, it just gets better and better! Loved all the music too, especially the traditional folk music when you visited the temple. Also, I didn't know the wheel cakes were originally Japanese, interesting fact. I find that when you are back in Taiwan, you two seem more at easy which translates to really fun and playful videos. Laurie Penner I was there last year. The market is worth the flight alone. The video only showed about 25% of what that market offers. There is also a huge fruit market nearby which (at the time we were there) offered lots of imported specialty fruits from japan like their large translucent green grapes and the white strawberries. Taipei has beat out Hong Kong as my favorite city to travel too.

The visual of the braised fatty pork rice is in complete opposite with it's taste. Many would definitely be put off by the fat. But when the ingredients is fresh and paired with piping hot rice, this simple bowl really is satisfying on a cold rainy day. Perfect with a braised egg and it's a completely satisfying meal.

@@512Belieber Hard to say. I guess 4 days means that you will stay in Taipei. There I was standing in a small hotel with room costing around 50 € a night for a single person. You can of course find cheaper especially if you choose a hostel. Food is a bit the same price vary a lot. if you only eat the delicious street food it might cost maybe 12 euros per day for diner and supper including a Bubble tea at some point. You can also have a one star Michelin restaurant for around 40 euros. Taiwan altough being a fully developed country is cheap compare to Europe but also to Japan. I have a Chinese colleague that was surprised by the price I told her. She said it was almost Chinese price. The only things that are not cheap are electronic items, camera, phones etc...

I ate 滷肉飯 at 東門市場.. next to Hunng Mama Rice noodle soup.. with lots of pork inside... You sure give it a try.. you can eat the rice with the meat from rice noodle soup.. both yummy.. You differently got to order pork tongue and heart...
