Taiwan's FAMOUS Secret camp spot!!! TAIWAN is so beautiful! 台灣的秘密地方很美(Ep163)

Bringing you to Taiwan's most EPIC destinations!!!
1000m altitude gain over only 5km of steep mountain trail brought us to this magnificent secret location.
The track to reach this area was super steep and narrow which made for tense but also fun challenges throughout. Especially when we encounter oncoming traffic on this sigle lane trail...
This spot was shared with us as one of the best places to spend the night in the Nantou region of Taiwan.
We stayed for 2 days it was just that good. Spectacular views over Taiwan's famous Sun Moon Lake had us believing that this may well be one of the most awesome locations we've ever camped.
During our stay we learned that in fact this land is private property and the owner is so nice that he shares this stunning place with the public.
We couldn't think of many places in the world where this sort of thing would happen.
We also visit a beautiful natural hot spring area on the banks of a river deep in the mountains of Nantou.
We feel that Taiwan is going to be an adventure that will rival anything we've ever experienced.

Though you may learn that "ni hao" is the Chinese way to say hello, in Taiwan a more local way would be "tsia̍h-pá--buē" (呷飽未) , which is in Taiwanese and means "Did you eat yet?" That tells you how much importance we put in food and diet and may explain what you have experienced. Ask some locals for the correct pronunciation of it. That would connect you more to the land. I love your videos, though they made me extremely homesick. You two are wonderful. Keep on going.

Since leaving the EU it's very difficult to find vehicle insurance. We're always insured with the local compulsory 3rd party liability in the countries we travel but insuring the vehicle is very difficult and expensive. I've only found one company that will insure a foreign registered vehicle on a trip like ours. Clements Worldwide. Even then there's a lot of grey areas...
