In May last year, Lai Ching-te was having a quick-fire Q&A session with students at his alma mater, National Taiwan University. Lai was asked which head of state he would like to have a dinner with. His answer took many by surprise. The Taiwanese lawmaker said his top choice would be Xi Jinping because he wants to ask the Chinese President to "chill out a little". According to constitution of Republic of China since 1912 till today, Taiwanese still claims South Tibet, Mongolia and entire South China Sea with 11dotted line (Larger than what China claims). 😂

According to the international law Taiwan is undoubtedly an independent country. After ww2 the delegates from 48 countries gathered in San Francisco US and signed the Treaty of Peace with Japan. According to the Treaty Japan only gave up the sovereignty over Taiwan but Japan has never transferred the sovereignty over Taiwan to any country including China. Therefore the ownership and sovereignty should be reserved for 23.5 million of citizens currently living in Taiwan. Taiwanese have elected their president and legislators every 4 years since 1996.

You mean Taiwan was an ownerless land for almost 80yrs? Sorry, there is no such land on earth nowadays except Antactica. Every tiny tiny piece of land is cleamed at least by one country. Even if what you said in San Francisco Treaty is the fact. Right after Japan gave up the sovereignty, the ROC government claimed it and started effective governance, with no other countries quetioning it. It is then ROC's terrotory. If the residence on Taiwan island declared independency at that time (1945) , I wound admit that count . But they didn't. In fact , the residence on Taiwan has never offically declared independency up to now. So by what means "Taiwan is undoubtedly an independent country" ?

It's not up to Japan to return sovienty to Taiwan, Japan is occupied by american during ww2 until today. The UN including United States "acknowledged" the "One China" position of both sides of the Taiwan. U.S. policy has not recognized Taiwan as a sovereign country .

Nope, Taiwan is not the next Ukraine. China has to cross an ocean with at least 8 times the equipments and troops as D-day and sustain the impossible logistics to occupy. Besides, Taiwan has over 10 thousand advanced anti-air and anti-ship missiles (2nd highest missile density after Israel). Sure China can damage Taiwan but taking it is another story.
