Taipei 101 looks impressive, modern, and high tech. The mall is luxurious with plenty of food options, and the views are spectacular from the observatories with lots of photo ops. It's interesting you got lost going to Floor 101, because you were also briefly lost driving on US-101 in LA. Got to watch out for 101 wherever you travel. 😂 It was nice you bumped into your previous tour guide, and he remembered you. 😃 Thank you for sharing this tour and experience, AK! 🤗

So the 460 is kind of like the Edgewalk on the CN Tower in Toronto then? Don't blame you a bit AK for not doing it. Im still trying to wrap my head around the 37 second elevator ride.. Wow.. thanks for sharing!

Yes, it's similar to the Edgewalk on the CN Tower. Thanks for watching!

Right. At The Edge at Hudson Yards a few blocks from my office at B&H in Manhattan you can hang out outside the building. It isn't quite as high as the one at Taipei 101 but I still don't think I'd want to do it.

Interesting fact: Taipei 101 was constructed by Samsung, (the construction and engineering arm of the Korean mega-conglomerate) Samsung also constructed the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which briefly held the title of world's tallest building too...and guess who was the primary construction contracter on the current world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE?? Yup, you guessed it.... Samsung! If you don't believe me, Google it or go to Wikipedia 😂

So what’s the deal with that big ball in the center? 34:45 I still don’t understand it…

This 720-Ton Suspended Steel Ball Is What Lets Taipei 101 Sway Instead Of Fall. The heavy counterweight hangs between the 92nd and the 87th floor, acting as a tuned mass damper, which keeps the building stable during high winds.

It's a Tuned Mass Damper to counter the sways of the building during high winds or earthquakes.
