I don’t care that I may sound soppy, but I genuinely had a lump in my throat of complete and utter happiness for you both. I’ve enjoyed your videos for a number of years, I’ve watched you “grow” and become this strong, beautiful, inspiring woman with many important messages to share. To see you in your dream home is a joy in itself. I know you’re incredibly grateful for everything you have but Darling, it’s YOU and Alex that has made this happen. Your hard work and dedication is paying off. I’m just so happy that I’m here to see you enjoying life. I Love You both. xxx

A suggestion for a paint color for the north facing guest bedroom (if you can find it in the UK): Ibis White by Sherwin Williams. I painted my bedroom in my family home that color years ago (which is also a north facing bedroom) and it just makes the room look illuminated with a soft glow. It’s a white with very subtle peachy undertones and it almost looks like white walls being kissed by the light of the golden hour all the time. I think it’s a great warm white to use in spaces that need a little dose of sunshine.

For the TV, why not mount the TV on an arm on the wall? You can tuck it back against the wall where it is when you aren't watching it, and when you want to watch it, pull it out. Then it also doesn't dominate the room. A friend did this in a similar space and it worked great. There are some great wall mounts that extend out securely and then fold back flush against the wall.
@musicalfish83 жыл бұрын
Would you consider removing the door from the living room? I don't imagine you would ever have it closed off and you do have to work around it slightly with the furniture. I personally think that there will be plenty of room above the fireplace for the TV after it is opened up. Seems like the best placement for it as well. Excited for when renovations start! Absolutely beautiful already.
@darlaemberton93493 жыл бұрын
Yes! I was going to say this. I think they could take the door off then have room in that corner to angle the chair there.

It is a lovely room, but perhaps it is just too small for all 3 pieces. I would try moving the chair to another room. You might then be able to accommodate an additional ottoman, or a small backless bench under the window, or another smaller alternative for additional seating if you feel you need it.

My parents cover their veg beds with fishing nets that have washed up on the beaches over the years. Worth keeping an ear out for that kind of thing after a big storm! Can drape the nets over a frame when things are growing & with empty beds, even just having the net flat to the earth deters cats because they can't dig around without getting tangled! (just to clarify, we've never actually had anything get stuck!)
@georgiavanzaanen3 жыл бұрын
For the living room you should try putting the single chairs either side of the fire place and the sofa facing it. It’s then more of a conversational room where you can sit and face one another

Do a flat tv inside a thin cabinet above fireplace with a rough hewn mantel above fireplace. You could take off entrance door to livingroom so you get 3 ft more of wall space, where you could put a bookcase or a chair or table with soft lighting.

I would put the tv on a wall mounted arm on the all to the right of the fireplace. Then it can be watched from the couch or moved out turned to accommodate both watching. Good luck deciding!
@linzertube3 жыл бұрын
Did you try the tv on a bench/console or dresser to the right of the doorway? There, it would not dominate the room but still be as comfortable to view from the couches. You could keep the couches and big chair/s against the walls, for a conversation spot, with the fireplace as the focal point. In the evening, you could be lying down on your couches and chair/s for tv viewing. How about building a small 2x3 sand bed for the cats to pee and poo in, and place it just on this side of the fence so the cat won’t even bother to go to the veg beds? The garden is so lovely and seems to go on forever. The growing beds are awesome, too. I like your configuration for the patio furniture.

When my husband of 52 years died I had to sell our little place in the woods. It sold quickly (sadly) because it had beautiful vines on the sides and looked like a fairy house in the woods. ( moved from Britain to Canada in 1967) I later learned that the parents of the people suggested getting rid of the vines. The after pictures of our beautiful small home we called the cottage are terrible...just a house now. I wish you many, many lovely years together. Blessings. Christine.
