On 4 October we held a talk titled: "Higher Education Institutions and Diplomacy: Never the Twain Shall Meet?".
🏫The talk highlighted how Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) do not stand alone as ‘ivory towers’ separate from society and the economy.
Right after the event, STG Master Student Réka Heszterényi had a chance to ask a few questions to panellists Diane Stone, Chair of Global Policy at the STG, and Vera Axyonova, Marie Curie REWIRE Fellow at the University of Vienna.
🔍 They spoke about HEIs acting as diplomatic institutions and the Global North/South divide in knowledge production.

The Florence School of Transnational Governance was established in 2017 as part of the European University Institute in Florence. In the cradle of the Renaissance, we teach, train and learn by providing a platform where transnational policy actors across politics, business, civil society, media and academia meet. We are here for anyone with an open and independent mind, for thinkers and for doers. We bring together some of the best teachers, trainers and policy-makers from around the world. We believe the goal of public policy is to bring out the best in people.
