Let's discuss the importance of assessing thyroid health comprehensively and not just relying on simple blood tests. Low thyroid is a common diagnosis for women, especially over the age of 40, and we have evidence that environmental factors, dietary choices, and nutrient deficiencies can contribute to thyroid dysfunction.
There are various tests that can provide a more accurate assessment of thyroid health, such as iodine loading test, thyroid antibody testing, and heavy metal testing. You need a thorough evaluation by a knowledgeable doctor and also need to be aware of the potential side effects of thyroid medication may be too strong.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 *🦋 Low thyroid diagnoses are increasingly common, especially in women over 40 in industrialized countries, potentially due to factors like chemical exposure, gluten consumption, and poor dietary choices.* 01:10 *🩸 Standard thyroid tests typically conducted by doctors are not comprehensive enough to assess various crucial factors like nutrient levels, which are essential for thyroid function.* 02:11 *🧬 Medication for low thyroid is not always the only solution; exploring underlying nutritional deficiencies and lifestyle factors can be crucial for long-term health.* 03:32 *🩺 Consider requesting additional tests like reverse T3 to assess thyroid conversion issues, especially if standard tests don't provide a complete picture.* 05:39 *🧪 Additional tests such as iodine loading tests, heavy metal testing, and assessing gut health and food sensitivities can provide valuable insights into thyroid health beyond standard assessments.* 12:38 *📈 After making dietary and lifestyle changes, monitor thyroid medication dosage closely as improvements in thyroid function may require adjustments to medication levels to avoid symptoms of overmedication.* Made with HARPA AI

I agree with your words!! Helicobacter pylori ruuned my gut and then a benign tumour on my thyroid popped up, cleared that through food, and it came back and the growrh is now resting on my heart and griwing into my back.. i was pharmacutically poisoned after a car crash, and now my body refuses pharmacutucals of any kind.. surgeon to afraid to cut it out, and the fact i wouldnt be able to take medications after removal..

My functional medicine doctor in Washington State said i have a slow thyroid and put me on medication. About a year later i moved out of staye and couldn't afford a functional medicine doctor so I haven't been on medication for nearly three years. Yes i feel.less than human and my hair is still falling out. I recently had a consult with a FMD and she was not affordable either. We live in a small rural part of Vermont, so its also a long drive to any available. Massachusetts would be the closest. I know I'm going to continue to feel worse and can't change it. 🙃 we have medical insurance but FMDs wont bill insurance

@nkaujmoobleeg
@nkaujmoobleeg 10 ай бұрын
You might want to do your own research at your end before you have surgery. I had a partial removal done in 2013. I wish I have known what I know now I would not have the surgery. Unless your doc can prove it was cancerous, you do more more research.
@smarzig

You do not need removal. Go grain free and set up a virtual appointment with him and you do your testing and put you on the right supplements most likely at least selenium. It will heal

Can you send me a link please to Order all the Nutrients to Evaluate? Plus chemical immune response heavy metal testing, mold andvyeast overgrowth etc I pay Blue Horizon Medicals for a full Thyroid panel including RT3 AND Antibodies and Vitamin and Minerals I am in UK. I had gut microbiome test and GI mapping test which showed I have Candida spp, Dysbiosis sibo Leaky gut gluten intolerance etc + #some bacteria overgrowth Drs here remove you from their Practice if you ask for all the tests. Their reasoning is 'Dr/Patient relationship has broken down', 'if you have Private blood tests then find a Private Doctor'... Private tests have cost me well over £1000 can't afford a Private Dr. I know I have Hashimoto's from High TPO and Tgab Antibodies = Any Advice would be Greatly appreciated I'm lost

Dr.Os I am rewatching this video and have a question: will aluminum (I had alarming levels of it due to eating sardines from cans started taking sillica supplement for over a year now and stopped consuming anything from can) interrupt thyroid function ? I don't take any medication, just supplementing iodine and other things to overcome iodine defficiency and aluminum in my body. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
