Take Me Back \\ BMPCC6k \\ Sony FS5 \\ ZCAM E2

I miss 2019....
Since we are all stuck at home, I decided to put together a video using some old unused clips of friends and family. Every camera was used with a speedbooster. The BMPCC6K (MagicBooster by LucAdapters), Z CAM E2 (Metabones .64x), Sony FS5 (Metabones .71x).
Can you guess what camera was used in each shot?
All the super slow-motion snow shots were with the ZCAM E2, shooting at 240 fps. The FS5 was used on the shots with the kids walking down the stream. All the other shots were with the BMPCC6k.

Dude, you are like the Picasso for film. Your attentiveness to color and composition are incredible. You have a great eye for detail, focus is pin-point sharp. I've been binge watching all your videos, perfection is literally an understatement. You're grading is to a whole other level! Was the majority of this footage shot in log and raw? Also out of all your cameras, which do you find most pleasant to grade based on its color science and codec. I absolutely love your work! :)

To answer your question, yes, this was all shot in Log picture profiles on every camera, Slog-2 (Sony), Film (BMPCC6K), and Zlog (Zcam E2). The only camera I shot in RAW was with the BMPCC6k. I shot Braw Q5 on that camera. On the FS5, I shot Preres 422 (via Atomos recorder). On the Zcam E2, I shot h265 10bit. The answer your second question, I'm a big fan of the color with the BMPCC6k. It can be pushed so much more, especially when using Davinci Resolve and using a good Braw work flow. These are all such different cameras though. VASTLY different. With that said, it's very hard to pick a favorite. They all have their own strengths and weaknesses. I still think a camera that gets overlooked way to often is the FS5/Atomos combo. Considering how old it is now, it's still a great contender (IMO). Thanks again!

If you had to start over. Knowing what you know now, would you get the BMPCC6K or the E2-S6? Why? I’m a BM4K/6K shooter and considering if I should get a Z Cam to reduce my form factor

Hey, sorry about the late reply here. Ooof, that is a hard one. They are both very different cameras. Right now, I'd have to say that I prefer the E2-S6 for is crazy versatility. It also fits my line of work better than the BM. Again, that's not to say that I don't also use my BM camera too, I just find myself reaching for the S6 more.

I own the FS5M2 and was contemplating selling it and purchasing a BMPCC 6K. There are some things that I absolutely love about the FS5 but one thing I don't like is the having to rig up the shogun to get the quality I want. I am really on the fence and would like to get your take on it.

Hey Dan, this stuff looks incredible (as always with your work). I think you could shoot on a boot and make the footage look vibey and cinematic.. HUGE fan here if you can't tell. I own your LUTS for the ZCAM but have since moved on from the system. I'm curious what your input would be on the FS5 (w/ProRes Raw via the Shogun) for the type of work that you do in 2020 would be. I do 70% talking head, interview, corporate work, 30% run and gun "B-Roll" type work. Latest kits have consisted of BMPCC4K's, ZCAM, and most recently the Canon 1DX III. I LOVE the thought of built in audio, built in variable ND and the ProRes Raw workflow.. I think my main concern is color and noise... What's your thought on the FS5 setup when compared to the other options on the market? Thanks in advance for your time!

All the dog shots in the snow and a few clips of my daughter, were all done with the Zcam E2 shooting at 240fps. The shots of my kids walking along the stream were all shot on the FS5. Everything else was shot on the BMPCC6k. I hope that helps. :)
