He wonders what's inside, only to find that there really /was/ just a dead dove in there. This means that the author is warning you that the tags, summery, and sometimes even the title of the fic is very literal. There will be no sugercoating. The angst in that fic will be VERY brutal.

As an A03 reader / writer I would absolutely not recommend A03 as a starter, usually people get there after being bored or seemingly no more interested in reading the same ff plots and endings , so I kinda see it as last resort! A03 is not the best place to start as it leaves a huge marge on what someone can write about just by including the warning you can absolutely write fictions about the most disturbing/illegal / immortal and taboo things , I believe it can be shocking if you first try reading from that site , sometimes myself am shook at some FF not about the content but about the characters themselves ! You can find some dead actors /singers , you can find TV shows (Kardashians for example ) I didn't read it but was shocked to find that ff about these exist 🤔 guess it all make sense after all a whole rule 34 allow that .

Aziraphale has to grapple with his love for God-and by proxy, his fellow angels-while also disagreeing with their idea to essentially destroy humans. He also has to come to terms with the fact that this disagreement cannot always be settled non-violently like he prefers to do. Heck, he tries to kill Adam one time thinking it's the only way! And don't even get me STARTED on Crowley! He's a demon, a fallen angel! Of course he has a bad outlook of Heaven. And yet, he is seen begging God to help him on occasion. Even though She supposedly abandoned him, he doesn't have it in his heart to abandon Her. All in all, "every Sunday's getting more bleak" referring to Good Omens represents, to me, how so many characters in the series start out seeing God and Heaven as holy and just (Sundays, like church), and then as time goes on, they start to realize the flaws in "The Great Plan" (getting more bleak).
