Ms Married to a Metalhead, KZbin showed me your lovebites reaction first, I was subbed before the song started when your man listed Aldious BandMaid Bridear Doll$Boxx Lovebites Mary’s Blood. Another time I’ll explain Fate Gear, Disqualia, Narumi, Mardelas, Octaviagrace, Nemophia, ShowYa, others will tell you plenty more (BabyMetal). Then I loved that he was singing and bopping along! Goofy men are cool, right?! (Shhhh...) “Ai ga”, in the siren voice, is essentially “(this) Love”. I’m stuck deep in the Jfemetal rabbit hole, but even I don’t know the lyrics to this one. The impact is the spice girls thing, “idol groups” are the thing in japan, a little more disneyish than spice girls. But then their patrons showering them in uncle-like encouragement got threatened by basement shows with less desirable elements (im taking some liberties here hoping to keep this under 10pages). So these very unique independent strong women were expected to “perform” a certain preening way, but they really came to win them over with their Rock. I’ve convinced myself this video was inspiration for BandMaid who formed their entire Schtick on this concept 6months after this video. These musicians are my favs, sooo eclectic original unique prolific talented and versatile, mainly performing (without this (extremely in demand) singer Fuki) as Gacharic Spin [they can’t pronounce it either. When you’re so talented you get multiple record deals and intentionally name yourself “a take on clattering” in a foreign language because popularity means nothing!] With only one or two exceptions, this is the most screaming they do. She was actually saying in English things like “you say you want to beat on me? No way” but couldn’t understand her anymore than Slayer... I’m fanboying. Here’s three links to try these ladies again. At 15, just released her third Sony label progressive guitar CD, the first to feature a vocalist, who sings soulfully, almost all English, annunciated even... They got the best metal rhythm section in the world (ask your Manchild about Billy Sheehan) to guest (unseen) on the A-side, “One More Chance is Enough”, they all make it seem smooth, but the rhythm is Reeeaaally complex & precise, a tough trick... this is actually a band called Gacharic Spin with Fuki of Unlucky Morpheus, Lightbringer and Fuki's Commune on vocals, normally Hana(drums) or Oreo (keys) sing but when Fuki joins them they become Doll $ Boxx, they made videos for all the songs on their album thus the to be continued

Band Maid has a lot of english in their songs so its easier to latch on to especially since they are so catchy. At the same time tho ive been listening to so much Japanese music for so long i start singing along to the Japanese parts too lol

Presumably you know that the lead singer is Fuki from Unlucky Morpheus. The rest of the band is the band Gacharic Spin. When they join forces they become Doll$Boxx. Both Unlucky Morpheus and Gacharic Spin are worth checking out.

This song was taken from their first album, they have 10 songs in it and all of them have music videos and each video was released one at a time, thus the "to be continued" thing. Dollsboxx was a collaboration project between the talented and unique rock/metal band Gacharic Spin and the super talented vocalist Fuki, most known from her bands Unlucky Morpheus and the now disbanded Light Bringer.

Thanks loads for checking this out! This is an amazing and extremely versatile band I've followed for years (along with all the many other projects the members are involved with). It may be worth checking out some of their other music videos (they have MV's for every song they've created, hence the "To Be Continued") which show other aspects of what they can do, very few of which involve screaming although a few other tracks do have it for very small accents here and there. Whilst all their songs are fantastic you may enjoy trying out the following tracks of theirs: monopoly - a melodic rock song, no unclean vocals, the drummer shows off some of her higher tempo double kick beats and dueling verse melodies sung between the vocalist and drummer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIvLpq2DorRjadE Omacha no Heitai (Toy Soldier) - just a fun, short and sweet pop rock song, no screaming or dual vocals in this one and very simple drums, but some spectacular and surprising lead guitar licks including one of my favourite solos ever that I use as a reference point for what a well constructed guitar solo should look like: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIitnGilerp_nJo Sekaiwa Kittou Aiou Shitterunda (Surely the World must know Love) - a track off their latest EP with lots of intricate guitar parts (including a whacked out whammy laced guitar solo) and some extremely rapid 200bpm double-kick drumming, as well as lots of vocal harmonies (and a few screams) from the drummer, I recommend having a look at this live version: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnqrgqJmf6iDqZo Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their tracks, these are just a few suggestions. I recommend having a look at a website named Lyrics Translate which has full translations for every one of their songs. Finally, a small aside, I noticed a few of the "want to be friends" comments on this video from "Logan" - if you aren't already aware, DO NOT INTERACT WITH THEIR COMMENTS OR SUBSCRIBE TO THAT COMMENTERS CHANNEL. This is bot spam from a hacker who has built an extremely advanced exploit for KZbin. He uses bot spam to flood newly uploaded videos (including private videos which is extremely concerning in itself) with these comments - if these comments are interacted with or the channels they are from subscribed to the hacker has found a KZbin exploit that can allow him to hack your channel including by-passing two factor authentication. If you've interacted with any of them already I'd recommend changing your account passwords. KZbin are clearly working on it as a number of his accounts have been removed but they keep coming back so the fundamental exploit has not been discovered/fixed yet. Look up "want to be friends" to see a number of videos detailing what this hacker is doing if you're not already aware.

@@timgove5337 I had been going to include Merrily High Go Round in my list, but realised it was already reaching an overwhelming length so decided to restrict it to just 3 suggestions. FWIW I agree absolutely that the solo on it is absolutely perfectly crafted. I actually saw that incarnation of Fuki Commune with Isao live a few years back and they played Toy Soldier then as well. I believe the song may actually have been written by Mao for DOLL$BOXX as I know it's the only track on the debut album they didn't compose themselves, although I'd have to dig out my copy of the album to remind myself if it was him or another writer.

ItsArchie ,The Doll$ Apartment producer wrote Toy Soldier, and is credited with arranging Merrily High Go Round, which has different chords underneath the VanHalenesque solo, I’ve kinda figured he helped construct the solo, just speculation tho. He doesn’t seem to be well known? (who normally looks up production credits anyway?), but he’s often worked with Fuki and Mao since they were teens in Lightbringer, and Disqualia, Narumi, Rami, his own stuff, he plays guitar on Bloody Rain, much more (if you “figure it out”, give me a wink;)

@@timgove5337 Ahh thanks for that clarification regarding the writer of Toy Solider. The sudden modulation up a half-step to Bb for the solo in Merrily High Go Round is definitely striking, sounds like it goes to Bb, F/A, Ab, G and Tomozo approaches each one as a new tonal centre, but obviously I can't know who came up with it! The chorus of Merrily actually uses the 'Sensitive Female Chord Progression' (Am, F, C, G) for most of it except for the Am, G/B, C, Dm, F, G ending. Interestingly the exact same chord progression as Take My Chance's pre-chorus and chorus (Am, F, C, G, although there's no extension of the sequence at the end of the sections in Take My Chance). Producers often don't get much of a spotlight on them to the general public but they tend to be well known inside the industry, especially if they've had successes.

ItsArchie I’ve always wondered how intentional it was that those two songs have the same beat, tempo, key, & vocal note immediately back to back... and the Bb part definitely distinguishes that solo, but the playing too. Reminds me of the change (but not subsequent chords) to the solo in VH’s Jump. I feel like that producer has a secret, and I don’t want to out him, but it’s all public domain info. Just feels like in the mouths of some downer types it could be a negative. But track him down, it’s interesting, and if you find it, you’ll know why I’m winking 🤘🎸💃😉😎 but I’ve only heard one other person make the connection, and I’ve traded messages with producer himself but I’m not even sure he ever acknowledged what I was taking for granted, like he’s shy about it (something to be proud of). No biggie. Fun internet stalking, I mean research 😝

I wonder if its an advantage or loss for not ever focusing on lyrics ..more the melodies. I have always been bad at listening to lyrics. Prob heard some songs 10000 times and don't know the lyrics. So maybe that's why. I listen to Japanese Metal no problem. Lol

Great Music comes from every part of this planet. How about the Kwaii metal band BabyMetal and their music video "Karate" or their performance "Road of Resistance" live in Japan. Do you know a Ukrainian metal band called Jinjer? Try "Pisces" live session and then "Teacher,Teacher". Don't worry, Tatiana their female singer won't hurt you!!! Enjoy and keep searching.

The video is really a mickey take of Idol groups and the fans of them (otaku). The singer Fuki, who is just a force of nature, has had over 90 relerases in 13 years mainlly full albums. I have no problem in listening to other bands singing in their native language ie Slot from Russia, tracktor bowling from Russia for example, I could go on as I have been down a few rabbit holes. J metal for me is like the early '80s and then it ran out of steam, in this case I feel this sound is like a reincarnation of that era but with their own sound. The band to come out of Japan for me in the early '80s was EZO produced by Gene Simmons but they sucked, women J Metal bands seem to be out stripping males in originality, sound, musically and to get their audiences whipped into a frenzy ( possibly an over drive of testosterone 😉). How and ever it works. Musically, guys just hang up your instruments 😂
