Thanks for your comment. I just took a look at this video after having posted it and now I can see how it would be helpful. You never know how a video is effective until after it has been posted. Of course, there is always room for improvement! Being clear is a great complement. Thanks!

Great video! I was wondering if you wouldn't mind making a video explaining the difference between "to" and "for". A lot of ESL students have a hard time as to when to use each.

One question. In the mid 80's, a song "Take On Me" by a-ha was a huge hit. The chorus goes: Take on me Take me on I'll be gone in a day or two What do "Take on me" and "Take me on" mean? Do they mean the same thing?

Thanks a lot, dear Teacher! To be honest, I find phrasal verbs to be a really difficult topic. I often struggle to understand their meaning and logic. For this reason, I am currently stuck on the Purple level of Learn American English Online. It's only my bad.

There's a famous song. "TAKE ON ME"" And in the same song, it also mentions the frase: TAKE ME ON. WUOLD YOU BE KIND TO EXPLAIN A LITTLE ABOUT IT. Because it's KIND of hard to understand it fully. Thanks so much. I appreciate your lessons.

and what does "take on me" mean?
@fredylopez247711 ай бұрын
I know what you're tryna get at, there's a song called that way "take on me" but according to what I heard in the news, this singer ain't a native English speaker and he titled the song with that name but then he realized that he was wrong but the song had already been released, I mean, he wanted to name the song in a different way, in other words, the name of the song is kind of wrong according to what he wanted to mean. As you can see, that phrasal verb has several meanings, but, according to logic, the meaning of "take on me" could be: - Hire me, - Fight with me or against me. Just like Paul explained in this video. I think the meanings depend all on context. Thanks for reading my comment.

So that could I say that my english is taking off by watching your videos?
@fredylopez247711 ай бұрын
Well, according to what Paul said, you can apply that phrasal verb only when you talk about business and its progress and when you talk about products too, So, according to that, you can't say "My English is taking off". In all cases you could say "My English IMPROVES every time I watch your videos". Or. "My English is improving by watching your videos". But I guess it sounds natural to say "my English takes off when I watch your videos". But, we better wait for Paul's answer, so we can be sure.
