I think accountability is a better word for it. Sometimes it really isn't your fault, but the best course of action is to take the consequences upon yourself anyways. Getting pulled over was a great analogy for this. Cops have quotas and their institutions are corrupt, he was absolutely lying. Your word against his, you could've just said you didn't speed and not get a ticket, I would. But you weighed your priorities and decided that arguing wasn't worth the possibility of jailtime or spending time disputing the ticket.

WHOOOOOoooaaaa bro pause! i gotta tell anyone reading this: *never, ever, admit guilt up front to an officer.* always make them surrender that information first. they ask for you to answer, so say you don't know and then they tell you. they will. they have to. that is YOUR right. our guy is right in most life situations, but dealing with LE is not a lesson in personal character. and no it will not automatically come to jail, and you don't have to be rude. let the officer tell you why they pulled you over. they know that you know, it's not a weight on your soul kinda thing it's how much you can be charged with and they can prove. rain got lucky on this one, he coulda had it way worse (glad you didn't die also.) remember, life advice loses its warm fuzzies the closer you get to losing everything which almost happened to him. they only ask as a legal formality. IT IS NOT A TEST OF CHARACTER. Im all for taking responsibility and honesty but the law in my experience are more concerned with filling out their monthly quota regardless of whether you were right or wrong. Better to plead the 5th or dodge the question of why you were speeding from a legal perspective.
