Take slack out of garage door belt: Tighten Garage door belt from sagging

"Professional" installer replaced my split trolley with new rail belt trolley assembly. After he was done the garage door would pop loudly when closing. He could not figure out the problem and left me high and dry. Thanks to your video this was an easy fix. Thanks!

I cannot thank you enough!! Worked great. My belt was very loose and spring clip was not set. The noise was horrible now absolutely quiet.

Thank you! Had the same opener and sure enough they never set the spring clip. Door is nice and quiet again, no slack and shouldn't loosen up!

Bought a new house 1.5 years ago, have been adjusting that stinking tension all this time, that spring would back off and then I would jump on the ladder and tighten it back. I guess it would have been nice to have that correctly tensioned by the installer but alas I now have popped the spring forward. I think you are in the St.George area, I was raised in Logandale.

Omg!! I’m having the most difficult time with that spring. Ordered new belt and didn’t order a new spring so removed old one and attached. I’m so stumped as to how to mess with this spring.

I did lock my clip in place during install, Must I undo that to adjust the belt tension later?

Spring needs to be 1 1/4” wide right? My locking ring still hasn’t snapped into place I don’t think
