you might be confused, alluka is really born a male/boy but identifies as a girl so killua sees him as a girl, while everyone else in the family calls him a boy. so yeah this is LGBT awareness from the 90's. the writer is far ahead of his time. can you imagine we just accepted this issue in society today, but has been lowkey opened up since 90's.

Alluka's family aside from Killua don't consider her a person (family member) they refer to her as "something" and a something can't be male or female, that's why they refer to her as "he / brother" using masculine references bcuz in some languages that's how u refer to gender neutral unlike English (they / them) on the other hand Killua who recognizes her as a person calls her (she / sister) he requestred Canary to accompany him to take care of Alluka's needs as she is a girl

I love how Milluki has been kind of presented as a fool for the entire show, and yet he's the one who has been consistently right about Killua and who has always understood him the best. The Zoldyck tried everything, kidnapping him back, manipulating him, putting a needle in his head, only Milluki told them from the very start "that's useless, he might be the most talented Zoldyck but he's a lost cause". He was right over Zeno, Silva, the mother and Illumi and warned them that their schemes would amount to nothing and that Killua would do whatever he wants and become who he wants in the end. Also I have never loved Leolio more and I really really loved him already. The idea of the vagrant father who pushes aside even his own family to attain some grandiose goal is, from what I understand, common in Japan's collective imagination. At the very least it's common in manga (One Piece alone has like half a dozen of those fathers xD). And Togashi has some admiration for that trope, he respects the idea and therefore respects the character of Ging who embodies that idea in this story. But I appreciate that he also doesn't shy away from admitting how messed up such a vision of fatherhood is, and give us what most of us really wanted by having Leolio punch Ging's smug face. I also love how he shows that this kind of attitude, even if he has a fondness for it, isn't necessarily worthy of respect. The association as a whole respect Ging as a Hunter, they respect his ability, but they don't really respect him as a person, they kind of hate his guts.

I like to think that Leorio's punch didn't come from any further nen training, but instead that he created that technique on the spot-- he even seemed kind of confused about the ability as it was happening. I think his emotions were heightened and he just wanted his punch to connect so bad he unconsciously manifested a technique that would make that happen. Not sure if there's any confirmation one way or the other on how he did it, but regardless it's definitely a highlight of the series for me

Just think about Leorios nen ability for a moment: it is perfect for a doctor. If he manages to control it very precise he doesn’t have to cut someone open to operate on them. Instead he can open that portal inside a person to do his „repairs“
