Great content! Bang on about the studies. I was one of the "donated" patients - 3 times unfortunately :( Each time they rushed me through signing the papers, I was required to stay on the creams and the doctors collected their money . Keep up the good work and love the bleeping 😂

I recall your comment and the rushing you mentioned. Possibly they have many people to process but we know there's a bigger reason why they rush you. Off topic, I recall you recently commented about having cataract surgery which I'm also about to have. I'm wondering if any of the post-surgical drops you used contained steroids. Of three that I'm supposed to use, one is a steroid. I hope you can respond to that and that your surgery went well. Thanks.

@@patm01yes they do rx steroid eye drops- You wi never talk them out of their usage , but the amount is minimal - bring 2 of my published papers from my web site the Oph.- see if he can limit the amount of days using steroids-

@@patm01 Just saw this. It was 2 surgeries and they went well- I was put under for one and a pill for the other. Both fine. I let the office know about my steroid allergy and the surgeon okayed that I take more of one non-steroid drop. No issues. I did have lasering done on both eyes after the surgeries for some cloudiness. That may be because I didn't have steroid drops- it was fine though. Hope that's a help.

@@barbaraeich1387 Glad it worked out for you. I had one eye done by laser Dec 4. Two surgeons insisted on steroids for 4 weeks, tapering weekly, and antibiotics. So far, so good (knock on wood). I'll have the second eye done in about 2 months. I wanted to be sure of no steroid reaction before doing the second one. I put it off for a few years paranoid about the steroids, but couldn't wait any longer. I stopped steroids about 9 years ago.

Hi another great video, thank you! Please may i make a request, please could you address more deeply TSW and still using an inhaler to breathe?? I know you have touched on this in an earlier video but the answer was not really est, has Dr Rapaport ever taken patients through TSW will maintaining an inhaler in order to breathe?? My son is 5 months TSW and fears this will be his life forever because he tried and failed to give up his inhaler, with tears in his eyes he went back on his inhaler because he literally couldn;t breathe and knew if he went to hospital they would give him steroid tablets. I cant find any information online about TSW and inhaler use, My sons mental health is now badly affected as he feels, rightly or wrongly, he will be stuck in the horrors of withdrawal forever due to his inhaler. Please please could you address this isssue a little deeper. Many, many thanks , RAchel

after someone fully recovers, will they ever be able to use steroids again the correct way, short term (for non-eczema reasons)? or will the body reminisce and go back into withdrawal mode?

You are right on target....as always. What if someone can NOT continue on cyclosporine because it may be affecting their kidney numbers? What is your recommendation then?

I've been on steroid creams my entire life. I decided to stop taking them about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Immediately the veins (especially in my legs) are protruding outwards. So much so it's like they are going to pop out my skin. It's a worrying sight. It hurts to walk and it hurts to stand. Is this a common symptom? Should I be worried?

Thanks for all you do Dr Rapaport. Can you talk more about whether protopic/tacrolimus ointment can cause TSW symptoms or make TSW worse? My 12 year old son seems to have some symptoms of TSW but after using low to mid strength steroids for 8 weeks (with required breaks) and then went on tacrolimus ointment on and off for 3 month again with breaks. Is that enough to cause TSW? On a side note, his dermatologist tried to push dupixent on us twice in 2 visits. I had a strong suspicion that he was pushing it due to kickbacks. I of course declined even before I knew the cost.
