Ok, jokes apart, I really am in love with this video (as I always am with yours anyway!). Real reflexion and thinking behind it; safe, controled, and creative way of training; powerful body and strong mind are coming as a logical result of your wisdom and assiduousness in your training. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us, words and video. Can't wait to train with you my friend!

I love watching videos showing training methods. Please continue making this type of video. These are an example for people starting and a delight for those already trained some time ago.

Absolutely amazed by your training! You have all my respect brother and it is clear why I am still watching you after years. This is what I fell in love for, keep it real.

What I'm saying is that people should think more the way they train and why they do so. I use other shoes too, I would be limiting myself by not doing that. I want to be strong and these shoes help me to get closer to that goal.
@monkeysk8er3312 жыл бұрын
Why would I have to get rid of my shoes? That's a very unlikely situation. But I see your point. All my skills are still there, I just feel the ground a bit more. I just like flipping off high stuff in which you need cushion. There are certain heights where it doesn't matter how well you can block/roll, you'll get messed up if you don't have cushion or support. Most people don't train the big stuff though, so I understand your viewpoint.

wow! Really love all your videos, Joen. You show the kind of training that almost nobody practice. And that says so much about your spirit and mental-body strenght. It is a pleasure to watch this video, although it is taught how cold it is there, also transmits that there is no reason to not train if one wants, despite the rain. Respect and love, man :)

Name of the video is referring to 'normal' shoes people use for training. I got a fracture to my instep last year just by landing 10ft precision on my middle foot, With any running shoe I would have laughed about it and tried again. Only reason I have for these shoes is that I don't have to be worried to get cuts on my skin, they do not protect me from bad landings.
@Joenkkoe12 жыл бұрын
Normal running is really quiet, but when taking speed or preparing to jump (last few steps) you have to run heel first. Shoes I use are flat and kind of slap the ground. Running shoes have pads under heel so instead of slapping they roll over your feet, therefore make less noise. Running shoes also absorb the impact which reduces sounds. So in short, I make more sound when training with these.

I got some of those slippers a while back, but with pvc soles. I didn't know what to expect, but those things are seriously slippery! I wondered they could also make more flexible and grippy pvc.. You can't train on them, I barely dare to walk down a flight of stairs with them on! So, in my humble opinion: don't go with pvc, as its a definite waste of your money. I yet have to find a good and extremely thin, yet tight-fitting and cheap shoe :) Feiyue's seem alright, but still a little thick.

This is really insperational stuff man. Something that i've noticed though is your footsteps when running. Despite training in thin shoes they are quite loud... I don't really know what i expect you to reply with, I don't even know if that's meant to be criticism. I just wouldn't expect it of somone who trains in thin shopes that benefit touch so much.

parkour usually must be done in shoes in an urban invironment now because our feet are not how they are actually supposed to be, ever since humans started wearing shoes our feet have been getting softer and softer.

It doesn't have to be that way! 20% of all population have flat feet but only 1% are born with congenital defect in their feet. The rest are result of having shoes on since they were born. It's never too late to start training them...

Imagine you are running somewhere and you lose or have to get rid of your shoes... *poof* all your jumping skills are gone. Using shoes is like using belt in weight lifting. At some point when the powers go too big for your body to handle, it is reasonable to use some help, but in normal training it only limits your development.
@monkeysk8er3312 жыл бұрын
Yeah, see barefoot shoes like these and Feiyues are good for light training like this, but you can't wear these kinds of shoes and do 20 ft. precisions. Anything big, and you're fucked. It's good for beginners to learn control and how to be light-of-foot, but for advanced movement, it's absolutely terrible. I've used both Ariakes, and Feiyues, and I can say that with my five years of training that Ariakes work better for me and my style, which is the big stuff. I love support and cushion.
@l1consolable12 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with the comment above from l1consolable! This video is lame. Now put your shoes on and do some real stuff!
