It makes for a nice comparison between Hakkai's massive show of strength against Takemichi when the season started and now, where he's mentally struggling to face his brother in battle and Takemichi has no fear at all. He realises he'll have to deal with it, and he does. Quality captain mentality there.

If Takemichi were to take over BD, he would not end up under Kisaki. Hakkai was blackmailed by Kisaki because he knew that Yuzuha had killed Taiju. But Takemichi does not plan to kill anyone, so Kisaki would have no leverage to blackmail anyone.

I have a feeling that the fight in the church is going to end either at Episode 9 or 10. If the Season is 12 or 13 episodes long this will leave enough room for post fight stuff to also take place.
