Takikomi gohan is a wonderful, aromatic Japanese mixed rice dish made with seasonal ingredients. In this recipe we use two different types of mushrooms (enoki and shimeji) and chicken thighs as the main ingredients. But feel free to leave out the chicken for a vegetarian version. Or use different types of mushrooms for a change in flavor.
You will find takikomi gohan at many restaurants as well as included in bento boxes. But learning how to make takikomi gohan at home is very easy and is sure to be a house favorite!

Oh yes... some mushrooms in Japan cost more than $1000 per pound even! But you don't need to spend a lot to get great mushrooms 🍄😋

Haha... I am trying to grow the channel by testing out the ads (and learn youtube more too). It seems to work although I am spending very little on it. Hopefully I can grow as big as Just One Cookbook one day! 😋

If it Dashi powder, add how much water to the powder? Or how many spoonful

I'd love to make some of these recipes although I can't get all the ingredients in my country. Is there a way to substitute konyakku?

Hello FailGirlGammer, if you are not able to find konnyaku you can substitute for other vegetables. Recipes like Takikomi Gohan can be easily changed to fit your taste or ingredients that you can purchase. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
