Currently waiting for a response, I have been using the x360 dock for about 3 years now. I also am using the touch screen addon, its brilliant and have never looked back (Even if it wasn't the most popular)

@@MrMario2011 Moving games on and off of a drive is a pain right now. Also the PS2 fan runs louder when a HDD is attached even though I am using an old SSD. Still, I'm happy to have Free McBoot and OPL. I even followed your guide. An ODE for PS2 would be nice for PS1 games as well.

One for the slim PS2 would be useful since they are limited to a external USB drive on a 1.1 bus, which is often slower than the actual DVD drive. Also hoping an internal PSIO is developed that does not require additional soldering, rather just replacing the drive like you can do with the GDEMU

@ You CAN do a hdd mod on the early slim versions. It requires some soldering to a connector that you attach the hard drive to. I was looking into trying it out, but after some soul searching, I decided that I'm as happy with a later model fat with better fans.

The PS2 is pretty good without an ODE already. There are SATA boards for the network adapter, games can be transferred with TCP/IP via HDLGameInstaller (which is very fast and stable) and artwork/savegames can be transferred via FTP (ulaunchelf). That's pretty good - only beaten by the original Xbox where EVERYTHING can be transferred easily via FTP. Although some games have millions of files and it will take ages to copy them...

Xbox One has not been hacked. The only way to run unofficial apps is by having a developer account. I don't consider that to be homebrew because you have to switch your console to developer mode every time that you want to run something like that.

Thanks Mr Mario, I've gone back and remodded most of my consoles using yours and techjames tutorials. Way easier to follow than any other method I've dealt with in the past (been modding my consoles for about 10 years). I had 2 360s die on me the past year, looking for one I can mod probably using rgh method. From what I can tell that would be the easiest and least expensive method, mostly looking to backup my collection on a massive hardrive.

My comment is targetted at the Goose intro ............. I modded my White 360 Phat Jasper with a coolrunner thanks to your tutorial videos, I admit I watched a lot of other channels tut videos too to learn the potential issues with wire routing etc before going ahead, but it's your video that I sat with to do the mod itself, because you made the video in clear and abvious stages/steps it was by far the best tut video, and I now use it with my PC monitor to play RDR after completing RDR2 on PC, I have a large(ish) collection of genuine 360 discs thanks to them costing pennies these days, and after getting used to my extensive digital steam game collection I hate having to disc swap on console, and the ability to install my entire disc collection on to swapable 360 HDD's that cost as low as £5 is welcomed, all thanks to the 360 vids on this channel, keep them coming Mario, some of us are Real Gamers. Shame my PS3 Slim has firmware that's too late to mod it properly (imo) otherwise I would be following your PS3 tut's for my PS3 exclusives.

@@MrMario2011 Thanks for the heads up, will look at the PS3 stuff next, currently revisiting my modded 360 setup and updating the homebrews, the latest (to me) Avalaunch is so nice :-) Incidentally, my PS2 setup is similar using an OG network adapter on ide, getting a sata update board for that next so I can keep using the network for ftp, should update that MCboot setup too really, it's at least 6yrs old. got to the end of the video after multiple pauses, you're not wrong about the costs of the TX hardware for modding, I got just about everything available and other stuff too and spent around £200, will have to email them to see if they'l open source the XODE stuff, even a dumb termination for the dvd drive connectors that tells the console there's a drive present and to look at one of the usb ports instead to boot for homebrew installation would do me, for everything else there's USB and ftp.

I got an Xbox one s that ended up being full of wax -_- (make of that what you will) and I had to wait a little while before I could take it apart and just clean it and you know I was thinking about that the whole time xD just mod chipped my original xbox! The main reason I would want this or something like this is because the hardware was the game devs target (Crash Bandicoot doesn't support analog sticks on the PS1 because they just didn't exist yet, no other device has the Dreamcast VMU, etc) I want to play those games on the console they were made for. That's why I would get a ODE for 360, or PS1, or even the PS2.

However the issue I have with the PSIO is my PlayStation doesn't have the Serial Port, that shouldn't Hinder me from modding a console, but even beyond that I absolutely love the idea of Internal ODEs as opposed to external such as the PSIO.

I was an idiot and bricked my rgh 360 after flashing new dashboard to it. Of course, I lost my nand files. Also, I did a full ps2 fat mod. I did freemcboot, tons of homebrew software on that, the network adapter, etc. Its pretty fun. It cost me in total like 35 dollars.

Why don't they sell knowledge to a Chinese company. Also simplify down to a SATA interface with a simple plastic bracket to mount inside xbox. If could manufacturer cheap think would sell a lot. So many 360s out there.

As lasers and optical drive hardware are starting to wear out in many 360s I see an emerging need for devices like these. Playing on the Xbox One is great if your game is on the backwards compatible list but most 360 and especially OG titles are not. If it ever gets out in the wild maybe we can see if an RGH system could use two internal HDDs.

The intro is perfect, still in 2024 🙂 ODE/RGH is still not an option for me, it kills to whole experience. I have a big collection of games for many consoles and try to play all of them from optical media (where used). So to keep the original media out of the drives, in the case of the xb360 the lite touch fws are the way to go for me. But why do I comment on an ODE video? Because everything about the xb360 scene is awesome to know. Even if I never will use it 🙂 The same for all the details about the other consoles, like the 3DO. Just nice to know. Sadly Team Xecuter is gone, thanks to Nintendo(oooooon't) 😞 Thanks for your work!

Very good video. I still have a bunch of Xbox 360 working and some with the RROD which I was planning to repair one day and maybe mod them. Watched many of your other videos before and stumbled upon this today when I picked up 2 Frankenstein White XBox 360 consoles. First thought it was just another case on top of it but it have something in the back for a USB connector. Watched your video to see if you would talked about it but didn't. After a bunch of search it turned out to be an XBox 360 XDK Development Kit. Not sure if you did any video on it but love to see one.

So if I was Xecuter this is what I would do. I would model the Front Tray and metal casing for a 3D Printer and make the files free. Let 3D print houses print and sell them like Laserbear and BIt-District and other like them. For people who have 3D printers they can print their own. Then I would Make the PCB files and the BOM (build of materials) available and release the Boards open source along with the firmware. OR!! Team X could manufacture the PCB with the Firmware and sell them. My guess is in 2020, those PCBs would be no more than $5-10 each to make,, Run off 5000 of them, your looking at $50K max. Include the USB port and wiring and then Sell them for $34.99 or $39.99 + shipping. It would be up to the user to 3D Print their own tray to mount all the hardware. I am sure they would sell 5K of them ASAP. Make them for sale through stone age gamer, Castlemania games, game-tech and who ever else wants to sell them. Any Retailer can buy in for 50 pieces or more. That is what I would do if I were Team Xecuter. Even in 2020 they could make back their investment times 3. That would be $100K+ easy for them. The Effort would be minimal.

i love my XK3Y :) but i NEVER went online without patching the iso properly. making sure the proper video partition size was used etc. Making sure you passed the piracy tests with abgx360 was the best way to avoid a ban.

That was common sense that a lot of people didn't utilize! Takes 5 minutes to properly verify/patch a game. By the time Lite Touch came about the only bans I saw were from people modding, not patching their games properly, or playing first party games early.

I used the xK3y the full setup with screen and had a flashed drive at the same time. Also what I remember is that they were saying people were getting banned because they were not using the xK3y screen, and were using the Xbox 360 to load the games. Instead of using the xK3y screen to load the games I never got banned lol. I also can vouch for what you said about the stream and JonnyGuns I was there that day as well and remember it well.

For some reason I also remember advising against completely removing the DVD drive. I remember it was said the device could completely replace the drive if you wished, but shortly after it was recommended not to do that as it might not be Live safe.

What's truly bizzare about this (maybe there's rules I don't know about?) is that they didn't do a crowd funding run. 8 months is a lot of time, it's strange that they would throw it all away without putting more effort into assessing demand.

Back in the day had a action replay clone cost £10 boot with a normal game then put in your backup it came with a spring that kept the eject sensor down. So it would not reset

I have the xk3y in storage. Seems the only difference is that the xode let's you install the HDD internally by replacing the DVD drive. The xk3y uses an external HDD. I definitely would have bought a xode. Edit: I commented too soon. I'm now at the section where you speak about the xk3y.

My Xbox 360 is actually the only not current gen console I didn't mod at all 😁 I mean, my PS2 has freemcboot, with OPL and a 1TB SATA hard drive. My Vita has Hencore2 with an SD2VITA, and a 32GB micro SD atm. And my SNES Mini just has Hackchi with a bunch of games with Retroarch. But my launch day fat Xbox 360 is still stock. The only "modification" I did to it is actually plugging in a 128GB USB drive for saves, and games from the Store, because it doesn't even have a hard drive, but that's about it 😁 I guess I don't want to risk my very old Microsoft account being banned. But I guess I should give it a try with a secondary account. This video kinda made me interested in the whole thing 😁

MrMario2011 I wish that they would open source their hardware design so that interested individuals could build their own. I have no problems with makers making money off their designs, but I think more should open up their designs for community involvement and improvements instead of keeping things closed and hoarding knowledge, because the modding community doesn’t fully benefit from greedy money grabs as much as it does from open designs. I see the dollars I spend on modding my systems as a vote, and I’d rather buy clone hardware for a reasonable cost than support makers who artificially limit supply and make room for scalpers to jack up the cost (which is why I bought a clone GDEmu instead of an original). I’ll support makers like citrus3000PSI who open up their designs and accept modifications from community members which improves things for everyone instead. I’ll eventually buy a DCHDMI from him and look forward to the final development of his similar product for the PS2. That’s the kind of participation in the modding community that needs to be encouraged.

I'm about the same way with clones - I will try to nab the original hardware to support the developers, but the GDEMU is a perfect example of that exception. No one really likes how the developer of that conducts himself or how he makes it difficult to buy one, so even people vehemently against clone devices have made an exception for GDEMU.

MrMario2011 I think we’re entering a new and exciting era for the modding community as more sophisticated FPGAs become more ubiquitous and inexpensive. Which will benefit all of us as long as motivated groups gain access to the technology, and share their designs for refinement and bug squashing. Opening up things like ODEs and direct digital translation of video output are just the tip of the iceberg, now that constantly improving hardware simulation can replace an entire console, or just components. I really look forward to seeing what the future brings (hybrid consolized version of handhelds are what I’m most looking forward to).

Kinda hurts that this wasn't made I personally would like to have had this open on the market for those systems that have dead drives and without the stuff to reflash a new board. I'm watching your videos with interest. Xbox 360 internet services are scheduled to end in July 2024. Microsoft will take the xbox360 off its leash and release it into the wild. The smart guys in the mod club will be able to tame the xbox 360 without worrying about microsoft.

I own the Wasabi 360 for the 360S but i have to correct you there also is a variant for the FAT Models. I never personally had any trouble with this ODE. Idk much about the xkey did it only use USB? USB 3.0 oor 2.0? because my Wasabi uses e-Sata which i assume is faster then USB 2.0!? The Wasabi looks decent and clean like it was originally build into the Xbox and is pretty easy even for less experienced people to install. Sad side was the Updates..they are mabye one or 2 updates out but with the lates Beta firmware it still runs today with the newst Dashboard version. Yeah i risked to update the Dashboard and it STILL works today like a charm! it was expensive but still lil cheaper then the xkey stuff. I think it cost me like 70-90~ Euros. + 20-30 ~ Euros for the HDD Case with E-Sata. Tossed a 1TB WD into it, i already had and tossed the Firmware onto it with a custom made MENU DVD ISO (you dont have to do that and use the Media Player Menu instead of the Xbox as ISO Menu) and all "clean"(checked with abgx or hower it was called) ISO rips of my games i copied, worked fine. PS: I never get bored of any video about any console. I personally started with modding on Xbox 360, just like you. I broke the drive on my first attempt flashing it and learned a bunch since my first tries on Xbox 360 modding. Fixing, repareing, modding and all over. Now i mod every console you can think of. Thanks to Xbox 360 which helped me to get started and getting experienced!

You totally can.. I recently got a broken xbox360 just for it's housing that was RROD'd. When looked inside through the grill I could see busted caps, when I opened it up almost every single cap was blown open. Replaced 8 of them, works like new.
