@@BytzDrawz I witnessed the aftermath of a an air-burst from a 60mm HE M224 in Afghanistan. Two insurgents had their heads completely removed from their shoulders, and several others died of neck fractures, and massive internal hemorrhaging caused by the concussion wave. Granted it wasn't intentionally aimed for their heads, but it ended up doing the job.

As you say, the technology around rangefinding and the explosives adapts over time, but modern mortars still do the exact same job as they did in the 1500s, when the Chinese were lobbing them at one another!

Even though it is the M-16 rifle that most people associate with the Vietnam War the animated U.S. Marines in this video are carrying M-14 rifles. Now that's attention to detail. This video is set early on in the Vietnam War and therefore prior to M-16 rifles. 👍
