On the 28th of September 1941, an old Czech officer stands by a wall against a row of German soldiers. Ever since the German annexation of Czechoslovakia, he's joined in the resistance movement against the Nazis. For this, he was imprisoned and interogated by the Gestapo, and despite being tortured, didn't say a word. The court gave him a death sentence. He was executed by a firing squad, and the last words he yelled were: Long live Czechoslovakia! Fire you dogs! His name was Josef Bílý.

Many years later, a descendant of the official who missed would join an organization meant to protect humanity from extraterrestrial threats. He was reported to have somehow missed a shot on an enemy despite the fact the barrel of his gun was physically touching the enemy when fired.

A similar story is from Harry Frederik Voss, a dutch-surinamese KNIL officer who shouted 'wrap me in a Dutch flag and then shoot me' just before he was executed by the japanese

What an absolute badass woman - who not only fought against fascism but also had immense sense of respect and honor. Her tragic fate of being killed 3 weeks before the end of the war is terribly horrible, but I'm glad she's a Dutch national hero. Please make a film!!
