Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for taking us along. Definitely a bucket list item! Love the way you got the mirror effect of the landscape reflection on the side of the train. That was cool!

Epic Epic Epic. Every person that grows up in a big city needs to see what is out there in this great country.

We took that train in 2012 when we did a Holland America cruise. We took the train to Denali and stayed 2 nights and then bus to Seward to catch the ship. We were there in mid May and had 18 inches of snow.

Hi Dave and Carrie. Carol and I just went on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway about 2 weeks ago. It was NOTHING like this. Our ride would have been nicer if the scenery wasn't being built up. Lots of modern day "cabins" being built along the railway took away from the natural beauty of what it could have been. I personally would have rather seen woods and wildlife than millionaire "cabins" that don't even look rustic. Anyhow, I'm glad you had a nice time Carrie. You got to scratch another thing off your bucket list while Dave was being a good dog dad. Tell Dave I said hello. I hope to see you on the road sometime.

+@AsIronSharpensIron oh man…. I’m sorry! Nature is so beautiful and healing but giant cabins definitely ruin the vibe!

@@oneadVANtureatatime So Alaska basically has 2 seasons. Winter and Rain. Hahahaha

I'm glad you got to experience that trip. In 2013 I took the train the other way (from Fairbanks to Denali to Anchorage). I like the way the train took us through wilderness that would be impossible to see any other way. Another claim to fame for Talkeetna: their elected mayor is a cat.

+@daniellilienkamp5202 we got a great deal. From Anchorage to Denali, one night in Denali and back to anchorage the next day for the price of a one way trip!

Now that's the way to sightsee. Carrie, you looked so blissful 😊. Glad you got some blue sky. The colors of the landscape and waters are SO accentuated in sunshine and clear skies. You've done Alaska proud 😁. Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁🌾♥️🌾🍁🍂

@oneadVANtureatatime5 күн бұрын
+@beachbum200009 yes, you can pay to park at the train station. I think it was$20 for 24 hours. There is a security guard on site.

Did you ride between cars most of the way Carrie? Thanks for a beautiful and interesting video.
@oneadVANtureatatime4 күн бұрын
+@slowalaskan Sonja researched and got us this great deal…. Anchorage to Denali, one night in Denali, then back to Anchorage for the price of a one way ticket. I spent probably the whole trip from anchorage to Denali all over the train! I went as far front as I could and as far back as I could! Up and down stairs over and over and over! Then on the way back I pretty much just relaxed most of the way😃
