Any idea how to fix the 1313 error saying there is a paper jam, when there is no paper jam?

Hi. Possible rollers need to be cleaned. There may be a few different things, but dirty rollers is usually most common. I will post a video on that fix today and will send link. Thank you.

Great video. Thanks! In case it helps others, I had a Support Code 5100 (paper jam or such) and it turned out one of the belts on the white gears on the left side of the unit came off. After some disassembly (thanks to you) I was able to get it back on and everything back together and working. Thanks again!

Thank you for being so thorough. I pulled out and reinserted the cartridge and for some reason the back door and the duplexer both fell out of the back. Your video shows me which side is up on the duplexer so I was able to fix my printer. The manual is zero help on physical fixes.

Thank you for the excellent video; it helped me. At 3:25, the clips are much easier to access from above. Just open up the scanner input tray and the clips are just there.

Thank you. I had a paper jam and took out the roller assembly in the back but could not figure out how to put it back. Your video showed the correct orientation and all is good now (I think!)

Thanks so much for your video. I have TR8520 got error code 6004. You video is useful which allow me to open up easily. I found a part fall off which is trapped between the waste ink pad and the mechanic causing the head cleaning action blocked. My repair is successful. Thanks

Love this thank u. I’m having a issue with when it prints black ink pools out from right side bottom and ends up on paper. It only happens on black ink. Any help would be amazing. I ordered new ink. I hope I can fix it. It’s a good printer. I took printer head out and cleaned the dry ink off it. I’m not sure why ink would pool out. It’s not even like drops it’s like a flow. Anyways any help would be great and thank you in advance for this tear down

Can you add a video to remove the right side of the printer to get to the hoses? One of mine became disconnected from the ceramic plates and I need to reconnect it to the printer.

I have mine set up on top of a roll top desk. Because it sets up high, I want the printer to function with the front, touch screen closed. As designed it has be be opened about 45 degrees. I'd also like it to function closed because I want to leave it on, and ready to print from the next room, and not have it left open, whereby dust will accumulate on the touch screen, and face. How can I disable the switch whereby it will allow it to function, as if the front control panel is open? Thank You !

Thanks for the video - super helpful to disassemble my TR8550. I had hoped that disassembly would help me find the cover switch/sensor but no such luck. Do you know where it is? The only obvious switch I could find was for the front panel and I don't think that impacts the "close cover" error message.

Awesome. If I get brave enough, I might tear mine apart. It's making a grinding clicking noise on the right side. I'm guessing it has something to do with those in pads. I'm not sure if the assembly got unseated somehow. I can't tell from your vid what they should look like in proper condition.

I'm not sure its the ink pads, but just taking a side panel may give you a clear view of what's making the noise. Thanks for watching!

@@303electronics thanks! It's whatever mechanism moves those pads up and down and holds them in place. The white piece that holds them gets snagged on the print head as it goes over. I hate to add to the pile of discarded electronics, but it might be time.:(

Very informative because I need to replace my 4 years old MX922 which is totally dead; power button doesn't light up and no response when pressing the power button. Before the MX922 died, it did give a b200 error code which I know it is printer head problem. I mess up trying to clean the print head. That is probably why the printer died. I was thinking of the Canon TR8620 as a replacement. It got good reviews for document and photo print work. The few cons I found was the control panel needs to be open to print. I viewed the video just in case I have any future problems. I print on the fly and the TR8620 control panel needs to be flip up. Q: Is there a way have the control panel print trigger be bypass to leave the control panel alone, thus, I can print on the fly? Thank you, your videos are very well done.

Cool video. When I power my printer up the power LED lights up, but the control display is dead. The cartridge carrier also does not move when I open it up. Any thoughts?

Hi. Try removing the ink and printhead and restart printer. You should be able to move the carrier freely, unless it is locked. Printhead may need a wipe at the contact board area.

Great video! I need to clean the encoder/timing strip but I don't want to take the whole printer apart. At position 14:16 you lift the black cover to get access to the encoder strip but I do not succeed with it. I lifted the small cap on the right and I managed to raise the edge on the left to move it but somehow I can not move it far enough to the right to get the whole thing out. Any idea what could block me?

My Canon Pixma TR8520 (about 1 year old) printed fine for several pages yesterday , and now is feeding the paper in crooked and jamming. I cleaned all of the rollers with rubbing alcohol but it didn't help. Feeding badly from both the vertical back tray and the bottom tray. I use the bottom tray more often. Of course, the warrantee just expired. What should I do? Thanks for any help!

Do you by chance know how to solve a Code 5011 on these printers? I have looked everywhere! There was a paper jam originally and I removed it, but the error code won’t go away. The ink cartridge is also stuck and doesn’t move to the middle when I open the printer lid.

Hi. The only thing I can think of is connection to the main board has come loose. Try tapping on the printer side that has the board. It is the side that has the USB connection. If that's the case and the screen goes on after hitting the printer gently, you may need to get to the board by removing the side panel, and clamping or inserting the wire properly. I would also try removing ink and printhead , turing printer off and then on. If the printer screen works fine when the printhead is out, try cleaning prinhead back board of any ink.

what is the function of the foam pad that runs lengthwise under the print head? I have one on Canon 8520 that has become torn. Is it essential for the printer to work properly??

Hi. That foam pad just collects extra sprayed ink. Printer will work without it, but if you can leave it there, would be better. No big deal though.

Appreciate the information that confirms what I suspected. The foam pad had become entangled in a way that anytime you would try to print, the paper would jam. Took out the torn foam pad and now the printer seems to work as designed. Thanks for the advice !!!

Hi. There is a tab that goes inside an opening where the door close sensor is located. It is possible that the tab is broken or sensor is stuck. I will look at it closer and will update you asap.

Hi. It can be a few things, but most common is a stuck mechanism due to paper jam jammed gear. Get a flashlight and shine some light into the printer, especially in the spot where the noise is coming from. Please let me know if you were able to find anything
