This isn't the first time I did "surgery" on a doll ... but the first time, I DID make a video about it (I did a video on 'opening my silicone's baby's mouth) and I kinda freaked ... hahha ... but it was ok once I felt confident I could finish the job (and I did.) ... But overall, I would recommend changing out the body ... it's so much more realistic!

My Wee Reborn's Cradle, the one in this video has the cutest face ever, and after you redone her body, she is even more adorable looking. I’m a 65 year old lady, and when I grew up, my evil mother didn’t think I was worthy even for dolls, but anyways I do love seeing little girls play with there dolls, and all 3 of my girls had more dolls and clothes, and they loved them. I have thought many times of purchased a refurbished one, but that is the far as it got, but this one you did!! I tried it on my own a few times and one day: I decided to open my silicone's closed-mouth for the first time!! (I have a video on it) and I was freaking out ... LOL .... It was soooooooooooo weird .. ...... but after doing that plus re-weighting a few dolls (which I also have videos on): It became easier and easier to "operate" on. For the first time with my Ashton Drake, I just decided to go for it. I knew already how to attach reborn's limbs so I wanted to see how Ashton Drake's would be. This isn't my first Ashton Drake I re-did. My first one was a partial silicone one (I have a video of that too... lol) The only Ashton Drakes I won't open or touch are the interactive ones. You're welcome!! I wouldn't slit the fingers to separate them without having a good solution to fix any slits in the existing fingers that may or may not happen. Because the vinyl is hollow .. and if we slit them slightly to separate them: there could be an opening gap where the finger would be ... .. (if that makes sense) because the fingers aren't "wrapped closed" to begin with. (as I would assume) and I don't want to risk the chance in trying it! 🤗🌸💚🌿💗🍄🌈☀🎀💟💝🌟🥰🌷✨😊

The Nora is a sweet sculpt though ... Ashton Drakes have upped their game when it comes to rooting the hair (It's still factory-made of course and never as good as "authentic reborn doll rooting" but it's pretty decent!) and what they use for weighting materials on the inside. That's good to see. For their prices: I think they are totally worth it! And to buy a reborn cloth body to replace it is still worth it! 🤗🌸💚🌿💗🍄🌈☀🎀💟💝🌟🥰🌷✨😊

Did you ever try to add touches to make it look more realistic? Like with the skin tones, veins and all of that? Lol I'm expecting my ashton drake doll on Saturday (I ordered Ashley) and I saw some very few videos and it looks like it could maybe use some coloring on her

I did! I'm not quite sure on how to though ... BUT ... I do own a Vollence silicone baby doll and I heard for pictures, some will add touches of makeup to give the doll a little more realism. The body was from Macpherson's arts and crafts (online) and the body is a 3/4 arm and full, front-loading legs. I have two dolls to redo. I’ve got 44 Lbs of beads and the knee highs. Now I’ve got to buy the poli-fil and the two bodies. I’m going to have to get them piece by piece. I know the 24 inch bodies are somewhere between $20-$25 CAD at MacPhersons. That would be for my Amelia-Beth…the other one is for that Ashton Drake doll…I haven’t priced them yet. I did price the 24 body and the crafters fill at MacPhersons…with the shipping and tax, it would be over $61 CAD.

so on the neck the cloth body was glued? or did you leave the zip tie on with part of the cloth?

Hi .. I don't think there was a zip tie at all originally around the neck. .. I just remember the cloth around the neck was sewn all around, tight. I just cut off as much cloth as I could near the neck and when I used a zip tie to attach to the Reborn Body .. I just hid the cloth in and the zip-tie still fit nicely 🤗🌷🌿✨💟

I have Daddy’s Little Girl doll…I don’t like her body. It has the same body as your doll. I need to change it. Also, my doll has armatures that have moved out of place so one arm is floppy and the other isn’t. What size of body should I get?

Hi!! Good question!! I also did a video on how to tell what body to order .... (a few times) ... hehhehh ... But all you have to do is look up the size of the doll from the website and then order the same size of body or close to it! .. ALSO ... (this is important) ... You need to know if your doll has full limbs or 3/4 limbs and if the legs are side loading or front loading so you can order a nice body. ... .... ... I looked up the Daddy's little girl doll on Ashton Drake .... she is 18" long ... (and oh, my ... Look at her cute face!! .. lol) ..... and her limbs are hard to see. Does she has full arms and legs??.... Please search my video called, "Choosing a New Body for your Reborns: How do I choose? Are there any places I can ship my doll for someone who can fix one of my Ashton Drake dolls to make her in to a reborn body?

The best place I would go to is any Facebook dolly groups in your area. For myself, I searched groups of ladies living in Canada. Where do you live? Do you have any dolly friends around you? The closest dolly friend I have is probably 16 hours away (by highway) from me but I can send packages through the mail faster and cheaper. Do you know any reborn artists living close in your area? I would find a facebook group and ask the same question. Hopefully you'll find someone that lives close to you. I would take on that challenge but shipping to me is just way too expensive. The last package I sent to a friend cost me close to 80.00!! (Canadian funds that is) .... I wouldn't be a good choice. I would find someone close to where you live. 💕💗💟💙❄✨🤶🎅💌🎄☀🍭🍰💞🥰🇨🇦

@@MyWeeRebornsCradle I’m in Alaska I don’t have any friends with dolls, or know anyone that could do something like this but I would pay for shipping and pay to have someone fix my doll. I think I might be able to do what you did I just need all the stuff to do it. I’m still a little bit scared I might mess up my doll.

@@shawnastarr3605 Alaska? How cool .... I watch a few KZbinrs that live there or in Yukon (I'm into off-grid content. I have a second channel called 'CamperShack' where we own land that's off the grid.) There's some reborn doll alaskan people I follow. If you're on Instagram, they are easier to find. "Alaskanreborn" then many accounts will pop up that have dolls. 💕💗💟💙❄✨🤶🎅💌🎄☀🍭🍰💞🥰🇨🇦

@@MyWeeRebornsCradle Thanks I will check into that I’m not that great on computers I don’t even have one, or social media, I got my cell phone everything’s on my cell, I have face book, but don’t do a lot other than post a lot of KZbin videos lol. I used to have hundreds of friends, but got it down to 19 people mostly my children, family and some friends. I’m in Juneau it’s remote here you can’t drive in or out of here, you have to fly, or take a boat/ ferry, or whatever. Thanks again so much. You're welcome .... You know, the first time I re-weighted a doll, I was so nervous! As long as you have the supplies, you can always re-do the job as much as you need to make it the way you want. I once re-weighted my Saskia 4X! lol ... I buy my zip ties from Dollar Tree as well as the pantyhose to hold the glass beads. I buy glass beads cheaper from a car-shop store. (Glass beads are "sand-blasting material". I think they're used when people re-paint their vehicles but I'm not sure .. lol.) and the poly-fil is from Walmart. I sometimes treat myself to buying poly-pellets from Macphersons arts and crafts but not always. You can also buy all the materials you need from MacPhersons online. I'm so happy to meet you!! I once lived in Brochet, Manitoba that is fly-in only. I taught Kindergarten there one year and I felt too isolated from home... I grew up at a lake in a community of maybe 12 families or less for 15 years of my childhood. (age 4 to 19) but we schooled in the nearing town (The Pas where I am now) My Dad is a retired meteorologist so we lived at The Pas Airport. I LOVED it!! The outdoors were always a huge part of my life! My family is a military family too (My Dad wasn't as he was a meteorologist but he's been stationed at many military-science facilities way up north many times) ... so: I grew up with a passion for survivalist-skills. Thanks so much! I agree, I enjoy her so much more with this new reborn cloth body. I buy my some of my Reborn supplies from MacPherson's Arts and Crafts website. I'm in Canada and the store itself is in Canada, but their website is advertised in USD prices. Most of their customers are from the States. 💟🌷

What size body did you use? I think Ashton Drakes are just too small. Most of their dolls are 19 inches and smaller. I prefer babies 22 inches and over. But I love this doll. I was thi King a 20 inch body would be so much better

The music is too loud, even if I adjust it on my end it is still too loud! A lot of people do this and I don't understand the purpose of having it.

KZbin changed the song on me a few years ago. The old song is now copyright and they replaced the song. It is too loud! Many of my old videos have replaced songs. It sucks but I don't want to delete the video. I don't understand either. The parts where there is music has no talking. Just turn the volume off completely during those times.

I have a few dolls with a lighter head too so they can sit up ..... but for this particular doll, I want to hold her and make her feel heavier. That's ok we have our differences of tastes. ❄💟☀🌈⛄🌷✨🎀😊 Many people also love the dolls that are not floppy and many people love the dolls that are floppy. Best part: we just love the dolls! lol

Honestly though, we must also consider the cost of a factory-made doll .... Reborns by an actual artist IS a lot more expensive .. so, it's like "You get what you paid for" ... I know Ashton Drakes are still a lot of money but they're no-where near the cost of a good quality reborn doll. Over time, Ashton Drakes HAVE improved their inside-materials .... I was surprised .. lol ... because years ago, their hair wasn't rooted as nice and they had dirt and sand in them .... But yah!! I agree with what you said ... lol .... I have a couple dolls where I did change out the body ... and a couple I haven't (because they're interactive and I don't want to mess with their inside-parts) ... ...... The Ashton Drakes are a lot less expensive than an artist-created 'Reborn'.... The cost of the Ashton Drake plus the materials to give her a new body is still less expensive than a Reborn .... (but it's true actual reborns look more realistic.)..... I like doing this because I love the feel of Reborns (they feel like a real baby) but the Ashton Drakes don't. If I remake them: I can make them feel a little more realistic than what they were. (Plus, I think it's fun... lol) ⛄☀💙😊
