My hog has an eye infection and this video made it really easy to give her medicine instead of her refusing her food because she doesn’t want it with her meds on, I didn’t see anyone else saying to give her water to stop anointing. Tysm for this video

PugPibbleHedgie there is Hedgehog food out there that is made for them and not feed your hedgehog cat because that is not right your hedgehog should be eating hedgehog food only.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this compilation of videos Tori. It's much appreciated. Victor the rescue hedgehog here in the UK squeaks that he's glad Blaise is recovering well!! As Victor's slave, I'd like to say thanks for the tickle-trick tutorial and anti-annointing advice; I'm sure it may come in handy one day. If anybody is interested, the cost of vet fees in the UK is pretty similar to what you have shown in the US, i .e. quite pricey, so worth noting to any potential hedgie owners that care cost is not to be taken lightly. I relate to the pain of trying to give them meds. My hammy had a minor cheek pouch surgery and she took antibiotics after and she is super Squirmy and little so it was very difficult but she did good with it!

omg I am so impressed with how well this went! How did you find out he has a tickle spot? That is the absolute cutest thing ever! Now I need to start testing if my hedgie has one lol. It would certainly make getting her to open up alot easier. Your hedgies are so calm and you are so well organized with them. I just unexpectedly now have a rescued hedgie. She is still so nervous after 2 months, IDK if she would let me do this.

I am glad your vet was finally able to pinpoint what was causing such discomfort. I can only imagine how crappy that bit of tooth felt. You have done such a wonderful job caring for him, wish everyone was like you! It can be SO stressful handing out medications so many times a day, mixing up foods and worrying about how they are doing.

My hedgehog had a URI last summer from being around a ton of animals (he had to be housed at the breeder we got him from for 2 weeks when we where on vacation and got an URI about a week later so we suspect it’s from that) and now we found some blood on his pee-stain on his belly (clump of fur mushed together with pee... male hedgehog things.,,) but there’s little blood anywhere else. We hope it’s not an infection but we think it’s a UTI.

Hey! I recently got two hedgies, and they really need a nail trim, but I can’t get either of them still enough (one of them is still extremely scared of me so I can’t even touch her) should I put something in their cage for now in hopes that they’ll scratch it? Any other tips!? I’ve watched all of your videos and they’re really helping me out! Also, my wheels are slightly small, but I have Carolina storms on the way, should I keep the old wheels in for now or take them out? thanks for any help, big fan of your vids ❤️!

Try doing their nails in the bath (: The water keeps them from balling up, and you can sort of pin them against the side of the sink or tub gently to keep them still. Unfortunately there isn’t anything you can add to the cage to help grind them down because they walk on the pads of their feet. And I would go ahead and take the wheels out now while you wait so that they don’t hurt their backs :)

I have a hedge too .. I noticed that there's like a pimple on his face near in the nose 😢 i think that the female hedgehog may hurt him idk. I think i need an antibiotic for him but idk where to find some. 😢 Its my first time to have a hedgehog.. The first thing I do is have him a quick bath for him to be clean and put a betadine on him

Hey Tori! My 2year old has serious tremors when standing and walking. Vet says Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome isn't diagnosable but I am assuming that is what this is. He doesn't seem to be in pain and the vet says he probably isn't either. He is eating regularly, and running a little bit less, I assume it's because it is difficult to do so. I am just wondering if you have any experience or thoughts on this. Thanks!

aww! have you ever tried just putting the syringe up to their mouths and see if they take it willingly? That's what I did with my hedgie :) so now he knows, hes on amox and sulcrate for 2 weeks, and he actually likes it! I have never forced him or touched him while doing it, I just put the syringe up to his mouth and he will open his mouth and bit down, from the side and I just push! Its such a relief because he hates pretty much everything he was a rescue, and I've seen other scenarios like yours where people have to "force" their hedgies to take their meds!

Aww poor boy! Kinda OT but I am allergic to amoxicillin and penicillin lol. I get hives EVERYWHERE! It makes dealing with ear infections a pain in the but as that is the most common medicine.

Hello We have boy Peanut. When we come back from work there was blood everywhere quite lot. We go to veterinary and we tried look in his mouth but it’s very hard to work with him because he is moving so much. Doctor had look for couple sec and looks like he bite his tongue but we not sure. He seems okey he run and is active but he doesn’t eat at all just small bites and I think it’s not enough for him. We are very afraid as he is also exotic animal so it’s hard to find someone to look on him properly. We really don’t know what to do and we are mentally drained. Is there anyone who experience same thing?😢

We just adopted an 8 month old hedgie named Luna (another Harry Potter Fan 😊) Last week during her bath there was blood on the towel and turns out it was a front tooth that was loose. It ended up falling out that night. Do they lose baby teeth? Is that normal? First Time owner so greatly appreciate your videos!!

They do lose baby teeth but they do it very young - all of the teeth they have at 8 months are adult teeth. It isn’t unusual for stuff like that to happen though! They are pretty prone to teeth issues - Draco broke his front fang a couple years back on a water bottle spout.
