Great video ! Where i come from, a Prado costs 3x the price of a fortuner. So getting a prado isnt even a choice. Its great to see how capable the fortuner is with a 2 inch lift & good tires. Im sure it hurts to take damage like that on a brand new truck but thank you for showing us how capable it is. Keep the videos coming, loving the content!

Thanks so much for the kind words mate! It’s so great reading comments like this it really encourages me to make more content as I’m not very confident with making these videos still. But they are a great car even from factory, and a few basic mods can make them so much more amazing. Thanks again

Sorry that Dez had that damage mate. Never a good thing. Hope it gets sorted out easy enough for you. Thanks for the episode. p.s. I bought the "JW Speaker" LED's, so looking forward to installing them to our Tuna soon. Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland) :)

All good mate, it happens. Have put in a claim to get fit fixed, but it’s about a 3 months wait to get the car to the panel shop because of how busy everyone is…. You’ll love those LED’s they are a good thing

We did this track Anzac weekend and I tell ya track conditions havnt improved, gu patrol twin locked had to winch 5 times punched a panel and took convoy of 2 cars 6-1/2 hours good effort to take a 200 down there pal… I was screwing up my face taking the gu down there
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk2 жыл бұрын
Wowzers! Yeah mate it was rough. Must be more chopped up since I went as I only got stuck twice needing another car to winch me. But I did find the wider wheelbase cars struggled more. Hope your damage ain’t too bad man

Could you tell us if you used the rear lockers for those muddy situations and for river crossings? Awesome adventure, but I wouldn't dare to attempt it on a stock car. Good to see how your unit flexed it's muscles on the dirt. Shows how capable these underated wagon are compared to the prado and LCs
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk2 жыл бұрын
Definitely under rated. On the deeper crossings I had it’s in low range and rear locker on. Shallower river crossings was just using four wheel drive. Rocky exits locker was on, softer exits it wasn’t. Just read the track and sudsed out the difficulty, then adjust the gearing and locker to suit

Great video, awesome to see on a trip, have you sealed up any airbox holes? Waiting for a factory snorkel as dealers were out of stick when car arrived. Will seal up the Toyota foam join but wondered about the airbox?
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching mate I really appreciate it. Air box is untouched, haven’t sewed up any holes. There is a small hole in the bottom of the air box that I would not recommend seeing. Especially for vehicles with snorkels as water does enter through the snorkel when driving in the rain (even more so for forward facing snorkels like the genuine one) and as that water travel through the intake it has to have somewhere to exit the air box, so that little hole is important. Also be careful with genuine snorkel as it does not change the wading depth

love your videos. what are your thoughts on fox suspension upgrade for Fortuner? i want the most comfortable ride on road, not interested in lift, just comfortable ride on sealed and unsealed roads. Could you please give me some suggestions? much appreciated 👍
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk2 жыл бұрын
I have driven a Hilux with the Fox suspension in it and to be honest with you it drove fairly rough. I have experimented with a few different brands and I always keep coming back to Pedders. But that is just my personal opinion

It’s a fabulous fabrications one. There’s a video of it and the install on my channel. In the video I mention it’s a meredith metal works one, but that was a mistake
