For insight : The appraiser is usually a VCA (vehicle condition assessor) he takes photos and a remote or onsite buyer compares it to market. Carmax only front lots cars they can back by their own mechanics and warranty which means no structure alt, frame damage, engine/susp/trans mods. Meaning theyd have to wholesale your vehicle with virtually no data for what a 1100 hp subie would do at auction, ultimately leading to not an ideal price… basically make it as stock as you can be before you sell… great vid!

Nice video! A friend of mine told me the trade-in value he got for his 2014 WRX STI (made 450 WHP) was 18k. He traded it in back in July. I don't know the mileage, but likely a little higher than yours since his is a bit older. He bought his on the used market for 26k already making 350 WHP, and spent another 34k on additional mods. It's wild to see that your car with lower mileage, newer model year, and ~75k in mods, basically gets offered the same price point.

Usually modification are worth about a quarter of the price you put into them when you sell your car. Unless your car is an exotic, it's not going to increase the value much at all.

This is why I don't care how much kilometers I put on my modified Camry, it's 17 years old. It will be 18 years old with close to 300,000kms, original engine with modifications. I don't plan on selling it, I plan on doing more mods and getting another complete new paint job done. It's got a Manual Transmission.
