I recognised the PNG flag on his beanie right away - I visited Papua on my own 5 decades ago, but it had a huge impact on me. It says a lot about your dad that he is into that stunning country and its amazing people. My dad is I’ll with cancer and has lost a lot of his mobility. He will be 70 in a few years. I would give anything to be able to do the things we used to do. Time passes and we adapt and I’m grateful he’s still here. Lots of people here have lost their dad. Just a word of advice that can apply to everyone. Make the best of each day while you have the chance. Time will take that chance away from us all. Some earlier than others. Spend time with those you love and cherish those memories. In the end, it’s all you will have left. A memory to look back and smile about. Ps…. That was one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen

A very special experience...well done. I could easily be your Dad's twin due to having the same age, hair and homeless look. I can relate to him being confused...one of the bastards about getting older... simple things can confront you. However, one thing....when it happens don't say ...oh, its easy (otherwise, you won't be having an issue)...instead say... I can understand the problem....let's see what we can do. You can see it bothered him, tho of course you just have to laugh it off. My Dad, now 97, also introduced me to camping. A few years ago I took him camping along the Darling. He loved it, especially the stars at night. He hadn't been camping for about 50 yrs.

I'm sure they, as we all are are aware of the homelessness problem and have empathy for those sleeping rough. Hi Scotty. It's great to see you taking your Dad out for a wild camp and what a beautiful spot. My Dad's turning 80 this year and we go for a day hike once a week and I've also gone overnight backpacking with him in Kanangra Boyd NP (wild camping on a ridge because we got lost) and Bouddi NP (Little Beach). Dad wants me and my brother to go with him on the Six Foot Track later this year for his 80th. Regarding the Nemo Tensor Sleeping mat deflating. For your next sleeping mat try the Sea to Summit Etherlight XT Extreme. It's the most comfortable sleep while camping ever.

SCOTTY - This video is more awesome than your usual excellent videos because you have your father. I love it. Thank you. My father passed away when I was 8 years old. You are so lucky to still have this amazing man in your life. If your Dad is OK I would love to see more occasional videos with him.

Yep, I think a fishing trip is on the cards for sure. Dad's name is Anthony, but most people call him Tony or 'Tones'

Great video and stunning place to camp with your dad. Funny watching your dad trying to put up his tent but also made me think how times change. He would have helped you when you were young, but now you help him 🤗😊 Very good videos from you thanks for sharing with us in the UK 👍
