Tip for you seen these frypans burn pancakes put your baking paper in the bottom, if you fear it will burn then your fire is to hot. BANJO, small bag of treats teaching the come command, he comes you reward him.. teach at home, then at a dog park, any open space, a Sunday drive to the bush, untill you can let him go in any situation.. Just a few pearl if you want them. Cheers 🎉🎉😊😊 BTW CONGRATS ON 100k viewers

Some things we learnt camping with dogs: 1. We keep their food in ziplock bags to keep ants out. We usually have spare food for us but not the dogs. 2. We taught our dogs a command to return to us. It won't always work but it's better than just shouting at them when there's a toad or snake. 3. Use a harness that pulls across their chest instead of attaching to the collar, especially for heavy and strong dogs like our Bull Arab. 4. Where they need to stay on-lead, we make a simple run with 2 big screw-in pegs, 3m apart with ski rope strung between them and a 2m lead attached to the rope by a carabiner. It gives them room to move without getting tangled around chairs and awning legs. 5. Our dogs are much less anxious when we let them sniff everything and pee on everything first thing when we arrive at a campsite. We guess it's because they then consider it "theirs".

As someone who takes their kelpie out bush on a regular basis I'd highly recommend looking into getting snake avoidance training for him as it's something that can save your pup!

Also need to be aware of wild dog bait. Many a domestic pup has fallen victim. I'm not sure how you prevent your dog from eating it but definitely worth looking into.

Banjo looked like he was so curious about everything around him and when nighttime came, he looked a bit spooked when he went under the Jeep. Probably just his natural survival instincts coming out. Good that you kept him on the leash, as he probably would've taken off. What a cute puppy! The day you were packing up, he looked a bit more relaxed with his surroundings. I think he'll be a camping dog in no time. Yes, we'd like to see more of Banjo. The pizza looked really good, as did the pancakes the next morning. I loved the foggy morning. Take care and hoo roo!

yawning, not being interested in food, hyper-alertness, pacing - all indications of anxiety in dogs! Mine's got it pretty severe, so I have a couple of suggestions if you're interested. -Bring a blanket your dog uses at home that has his scent on it, to have a "place" - good to set it out first thing so he has something to retreat to. -A walk when you arrive so he can get the lay of the land. -Looks like he was looking for a place to feel sheltered and protected under the car, having a tent or opening up the swag might help with that. -Some small favourite treats that are easy to eat could help him feel settled, the bone was a great idea but might have been too big an investment of attention when there was so much new stuff around to investigate! Thanks for the great video!

Good looking dog. Sharp as a tack. I carried a squeaky toy for my kelpie when we first started going bush. She could hear that better. She was a sight type dog, and I once called her and she took a flying leap off a high river bank, straight to me. Sigh. Both of us survived. Kelpies are affectionate, smart jokesters. Oh, and roo poo, or a dead something are a delightful perfume to them. Good luck with that. May you have many years together.

Beautiful country bush. When car camping, I recommend you bring a heavier fry pan to cook pancakes without charring them. Also, the pup will get used to it. A dog wants to explore instinctively, but he seems to be apprehensive. Just take him for more walks in the bush and he'll get used to all the sights and sounds, and get comfortable. We take our cats camping. Now that is a lot of fun.

Smart move keeping the tie on banjo, unless youve got a solid solid connection and recall, to where hes not leaving your vicinity of his own will, id suggest not letting him free run since hes such a prey/herding driven breed of pup, thankfully snakes will be lessening but the risk is always there for a dog like that to find something to chase and just go for it.

(This seems to keep getting deleted so I removed the links) Hey Scotty, Congrats on 100K!! Banjo looks like he will be an awesome companion on future trips. A tip: What I use when I camp with my dogs is to string up a high line across my camp area above head height, use a retractable lead on the dogs and clip the handle to the high line with a carabiner, this gives them a fair amount of freedom and keeps the lead up and out of the way. When my dogs are used to the camp area and they stick close to camp I will hang a bear bell or jingle bells to their collars so I can hear where they are and call them if they get too far away. Pizza for backpacking can be done with a reflector oven and pizza screen very nicely, it is a bit of weight but it can bake other things only limited to your imagination. Svante Fredén reflector oven: Search it out there are sold in Australia Pizza screen: You want the 9" or 230mm aluminum mesh screen, this will work for a lot of things not just pizza. Search it out they are sold in Australia Search reflector oven and you should find lots of recipes and tips too. Cheers from British Columbia Canada!

Hey mate, I love your videos!!! Something to look into is making sure your kelpie eats fresh food. It’s the same as humans when we eat processed food we feel crap and it’s bad for our health. Same goes for dogs! Get some raw food! Get rid of the dry food and cheap supermarket processed meat! Plenty of raw dog food companies around! 😊👌🐾

Scotty, dogs are creatures of habit. The more you expose him to camping the more acclimated he will become to the surroundings. I have an old girl that sticks close by, but when she was young I used an 8 foot lead tied to my belt. Being close reassured her and I tended to interact with her more as well. Keep up the good work with Banjo. He'll soon get used to the outdoors.

A few years ago I went out with my young son and dog. She was tied up to the Ute but was messing around a lot. Somehow she pulled out of her collar and ran off, I only realised when everything went quiet. Because I had my son with me I couldn’t hunt around and look for her. All I could do was throw all my firewood onto the fire to get it as big as I could and keep calling and whistling. After about 20 minutes she came running back. I was so relieved because I would have had to break the news to my boy that I had lost his dog. Now when we go I have a harness for her, much harder to slip out of. Nothing like camping with your dog though 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Just come across your chanel and 1st vid watched. Nice work. As you say a few trips with the doggo and they'll become comfortable with it and you'll both really enjoy it...
