Airing down the tires lengthens the contact area, it does not make the contact area noticeably wider. To confirm you can use chalk to cover your tread, then move the truck and measure the chalk markings left on the ground. Obviously try this on a driveway or paved surface. Try at different tire pressures to see how long the chalk markings change.

Beautiful truck, love the diesel torque, this thing isn't breaking a sweat, the engine maintains a steady rpm. Get some rock sliders to protect your cab. I don't like the camper cover, it makes the truck too top end heavy. I'd use the Ram box sides and tool boxes to store my gear. The 40 inch tires are fucking brilliant! Good looking truck, how much have you got into it lol. I just retired out of N. CA and right before I moved, I put a BUNCH of non CA compliant goodies into my 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins 4x4 6spd manual. I’ve babied my truck and it just turned 90k with about 10k put on for the multiple runs to MT. I loved taking my 1989 Toyota up fire roads but no way in hell I’d do that to my heavy Dodge even though you made it look easy! Could tell the weight of your truck in some of it.

I recently lifted my Ram 1500 (4 in BDS), to the best of my knowledge no one makes a rock slider that doubles as a drop-down electronic step. Currently, you have to choose one or the other.
