I like that he's complaining that things aren't busted overpowered anymore, which is how they should be. I think the counterhack for netrunners should do more than just blind, add cripple movement maybe or make it a random chance of either? Cos as he said, you can just run in a circle and hack him. Still looks so much better though.

@@MrSpannners then maybe they could add a qte or another way to counter the counterhack. Like, maybe if you stand still for the right amount of time, you get an option to use ram to counter the hack. That way, even if you avoid the effects, it still takes some focus away from the fight, making it more challenging. Or maybe by adding new quickhacks while he's counterhacking, it increases the time it takes for the counterhack to complete, thus changing your approach to using your quickhacks, using them with a good timing instead of stacking them as soon as they are available. That way, you gain more control on where you are located when the counterhack completes, wvich could allow you to reach a place where smasher couldn't destroy you even with the counterhack. And you could also make it so the hack that is actually used in the counterhack isn't something very damaging for you

I finally have a plausible idea about why Smasher asks about Rogue, even when he shouldn't know about your involvement with her. Last time Arasaka was raided was Johnny Silverhand and Rogue was a part of that raid. So maybe he just assumes that she's part of this raid too? Anyway, love the new update, great showcase of the new Smasher fight. Keep doing your thing!

You and Rogue both go get Greyson together. You both talk to him in person so there's no "but I did it all with stealth" explanation either. He had all the time in the world to take a picture or two and send them to Arasaka if he wanted to. No way that information passes Smasher without his notice.

the problem with that is if you do the Arisaka ending you never do that mission. also, when you tell smasher johnny sends his regards after killing him, he's confused so he has no clue about johnny I'm guessing. so who knows 🤷‍♂️

Smasher is confused cause johnny got killed in the raid after you see johnny in the memory (where you first meet smasher and it just cuts away to leaving) He wasn't a nemesis its just how johnny remembers smasher and rouge was the only one who left alive and "did what she have to."

i like that now the stealth takedown is harder, but more rewarding for stealth characters, who would struggle to deal with him otherwise but thats the way stealth play goes, you either kill while unseen, or die a cowards death in an open combat

Appreciate the last stealth build idea. Just tried this fight on my 4 Body Netrunner build and he one shotted me 9 times in a row (no second heart). I'll have to try stealth next time. lol. My usual method of running and screaming doesn't work so great anymore.

I like that with each new update, my play style changed. When the game first launched, I used pistols and rifles, then I became a netrunner, and then on 2.0, I started using swords and sandevistan. And now I'm basically a stealth archer.

When you tried the stealth takedown, I was really hoping it didn’t work, because Adam is such a beast- and, if screamed loud as possible when he used his sandy to maneuver away from it.. my God he’s badass now, I can’t wait till I face him with my Netrunner build.. Saw a video of using memory wipe and distract enemy on a turret. Made Smasher turn around then the player just did 3 stealth take downs. Beat him in a few minutes.

Honestly, I love how far CDPR came and made this already great game into a masterpiece but I’ve always had this idea of like utilizing the sandy as like a counter because technically speaking, smasher should have better gear than V considering who’s supplying him with such. So an idea I had was that smashers sandy makes you slower than him by a tad bit to show that difference in gear. While making him without his sandy move a little slower than normal speed. I also kinda feel like takedowns are still a little busted so I think a chance of allowing smasher to fight back would make sense especially after the first takedown considering his background

the prejudice rifle is a must on these types of boss fights, and rogues gun is so op aswell, best gun iand stealth gun n the game with the best rifle and they also synergise

Honestly my favorite deadeye cool build uses NDI Osprey and Hypercritical and I had no problem dealing damage in this mission, just took it for a spin. But I did build her heavily for survivability and I use a cyberdeck (with mediocre Int) just for iconic memory wipe and Blackwall gateway. Maximum mitigation chance and maximum mitigation percent do make it a lot easier to stay alive.

I beat up the game in 2.0 max difficulty right before the patch dropped and besides the new animations I don't really see much of a difference, Smasher was kind of a nice challenge. I'm running Sandy + mantis blade build though and most of the damage I did was with mantis blades with time slowed down focusing on the weakspots, otherwise I was getting bullied by him

Nice video i killed him on all the endings but i dont have the secret ending. I need to play the game again to get it cause i didnt know about it on my current playthrough. I used a overclock netrunner with mono wire pistols widow maker and my grenades. I combine contagine with overheat and ot does well against adds and decent damage to smasher himself to keep the overheat going i pop my overclock q few seconds after uploading an overheat using the cyberdeck that resets dots when using overclock this also gives me a damage boost to my monowire but i found grenades and my archangel revolver to do decent damage to smasher at a distance. Also once you beat it one time using the smart shotgun he gives you from the reward boat is really good against him cause you dont need to get close with it.

I only revisited the base game after 2.1 following my short 1.0 and longer 1.5 runs. Great I held out for 2.1 very challenging on very hard and nice overall additions besides 2.0 goodies. I might finally do a Male V / netrunner build, neither of which is tried out in 300 game hrs, and finally unlock the secret ending I kept missing. No hard feelings tho, 100 hrs into 2.1 & Phantom Liberty and I want MOAR!

Tbf he's still not so scarry... that counter hack for netruners should be more harmfull if reaches 100%. He has a top tier sandy so it should pop the second after you and just go normal speed for both of you then (in combat). He also should get some grab attacks similar to hansen.

I fought him for the first time on this patch. I was running an adrenaline katana (Byakko) build built around a sandevistan (Apogee). I also had a projectile launch system and high technical ability for safe measure. Absolutely slaughtered this loser, i did the secret ending too. I suppose i was only on normal difficulty but still felt like a power trip.

Yeah, problem is. Even with 1423 armor he can one shot ya with that annoying armgun. It’s easy to dodge since it’s clearly choreographed but it takes like 10 minutes to kill him, and one mistake is fatal.

Pistols and assault rifles were nerfed pretty severely, which now that you cant stack cold blood crit or use the legendary short circuit damage on crit anymore, seems grossly unnecessary. That said, using Jackie's pistols can stack the crit damage up very quickly with a sandi, and swapping between them keeps a good amount of damage dealing up-time. I wanted a straight up gunslinger build to work on new Smasher and Jackie's pistol and Qausar are the way to go from my testing. I am thinking of testing Dying Night next because you are going to constantly moving anyways and the shock damage should come in handy.

This might be a dumb question but ive never done the secret ending of the game and i was trying to do it yesterday after the new patch came out. I have basically 100% my playthrough, have 85% friendship with johnny, completed all his side quests, collected all his items and tried sitting at the end for over 20 min with him never giving me the option for dont fear the reaper. I know it works because i was watching you yesterday when you did it so im really lost as to why it wont trigger for me. Also i dont think i picked all the right dialogue options when sitting at johnny’s grave, but my understanding is that is only necessary if you have less than 70% friendship. Is my game bugged or did i mess something up to not trigger it? I’ve done every other ending on this same playthrough including phantom liberty so idk if that messes with it.

Sorry to say but to my knowledge the relationship doesn't matter but during the scene where you're at johnny's grave you have to pick certain dialogue options ign has a pretty good guide on the do's and do not's

The correct choices at the end of Chippin In are, from what I've seen, the only way to get the secret ending.

In the Chippin' in quest, you have to choose the right dialogue options with Johnny at the scrapyard in order to unlock the secret ending. It's only this specific quest that unlocks the secret ending. You can know that you got it right if you go to V's apartment and talk to Johnny to see if there's three dialouge options. When you start the final quest, you have to wait five minutes on the selection of the endings in order for Johnny to speak up and offer a different solution.

Deserter almost feels cheating it's so effective compared to maxed out pistol & sniper damage with every perk, headshot & stealth bonus added. Smasher moves too fast for them so I had best success mixing overpowered Deserter with fun but far more ineffective Erebus & electric mantis blades. I will try out stealth takedown.

For your next challenge, you should try this. Starting as a fresh character on very hard, only play main story missions and no side missions or farming enemies outside of main missions, and no mods! This will basically leave you with no cash for decent cyberware and a very small health and armor pool. Good luck!

I think Gunslinger has a problem. Forcing into combat is fine as a tool to make enemies more aggressive, but it should still grant stealth bonuses. Only way you shouldn't be getting stealth is if any of the enemies knows exactly where you are. Gunslinger is my favorite build by far, and it's sad how poorly it can perform under some circumstances. There's not enough mods or choices to compensate like "Stealth Damage timer" would've been an amazing mod type, and it would be a massive trade-off since you wouldn't be able to put a Crit-mod in it's place. Hopefully we're gonna get some more updates that gives us more diversity in builds and some interesting mod-choices that aren't just "Deal more damage".

you should try monowire cyberware malfuction stack since its cost no ram for monowire and can stack 8 times and play with iconic short circuit +25% damage or sypnosis burnout as you did there was special build in 200 000 damage video there system col + cyberware malfuction also doubles the damage if you haven't seen it

It was a bit too unbalanced compared to the rest of OS's, they tipped the scale to make Berserk/ Chrome Compressor builds more equal to each other. I just wish they didn't nerf netrunning *again* to make that happen, I've always hated stealth but still having the option wouldn't hurt lmao

I wish they would just keep working on smaller content updates like "Car Pack DLC" or "Gun Pack DLC" that are just some relatively cheap DLC that you can buy to unlock different guns. Or anything really to just give us more content over time. Doesn't have to be big at all! Only reason I'm saying DLC is because i think it would incentivize CDPR to put resources into the game until Cyberpunk 2 is ready to launch!
