In this episode we install a Carli Suspension 3.25” Dominator system that features 3” diameter King shocks and a whole list of fabricated parts. Of course we didn’t stop there an added a few other unique pieces to the truck to make it truly our own.

I ordered a 2021 RAM 2500 Limited Mega Cab that is being built now. I am looking at the Dominator lift kit but am worried that it will be too high. Can you give me a comparison to how high the truck sits?

Ok here is my scenario 2020 power wagon i want to pull a 30 - 35 ' next level 5th wheel. on a goose neck set up. will air bags get my 10k back up to 14k rating? with the 5th wheel trailer with bagged rear am i going to get wag ? I would also like to level the front and step up to toyo mt 35s . and i actually would like to get a smoother ride for street use unloaded. is there kits to resist the wag . and / or would converting to leaf springs be the only answer ?

Got The Dominator on my 2020 RAM 2500 last week. Everything he says about it is true. Amazing! One quick note, if you’re going to bumper pull a trailer, that’s more than a couple thousand pounds, you will need ride leveling airbags. Use Daystar cradles, so the bags only attach at the top, and you will not give up any articulation. Lower the bag pressure to 5 pounds, when you’re not towing, And it will have no effect on the ride.

I’m currently building out a new 20’ 2500 or possibly waiting for 21 or 22. My question is, Ram offers a “off road” package. Looks like it gets shocks. If I plan on going with Carli suspension day 1 I get the truck anyway, should I avoid that package? Or is there any benefit to getting it? Love you vids. Wanting to go this direction. I just got rid of a 2020 Jeep Rubicon that was all setup with King Coilovers and all the extras. The quality and performance of King Shocks are unrivaled. I have this 2020 Ram 2500 now and I'm wanting to build it out. However, will the dominator setup cause the 15% reduction in towing capacity as well? I'm assuming yes, and airbags might need to be on my radar too. Also, it appears the radius arms are not included with the kit. Is that accurate?

Good evening Cole - Thank you for the video. I own a 2018 Ram 1500 Crew Cab (Laramie 4x4). It does not have the air suspension, however, it rides exceptionally well. I am considering upgrading my 1/2 ton, however, a fully loaded 1/2 ton with all the bells + whistles in the same approximate price range as a 2500 w/the Cummins (Laramie trim). I haven’t seen any videos comparing the ride quality in 1/2 ton vs. a 2500 w/a full Carli suspension. My question: how does a 2500 w/a full Carli suspension handle in terms on the pavement road quality (not in the “whoops”) vs. a stock 1/2 ton? I appreciate any info you can provide, sir. Thank you. Having driven nothing other than Ram trucks since '98, I've had every popular lift system out there. None, and I mean NONE(Kelderman included) have such quality and precise manufacturing as Carli. Yes, they're expensive, but if I were to throw an inferior system on my $80k 2020 3500 H.O. SRW, who's really the idiot? I am in awe of this setup!.

I have firestone airbags but will need to disconnect the airbags at the axles and install Daystar cradels. This will allow full articulation and prevent airbag damage from stretching. The airbags can be filled when a load is on the truck to maintain 100% of capacity.

I’m getting a 22 f250 and I want to get the pin top for it for comfort the ford dealership has never heard of it so I’m all on my own. My question is why can’t this system be more available in Canada. I told the dealer that I would try and get it installed myself and bring the truck back to show them how good it is. That’s almost always a result of a poor alignment, or trying to use a 3” coil without radius arm drops.

Any issues with the E-brake cable and the 5.5” backspacing of your TR wheels and 38’s? Carli’s website suggest a wheel with 5.0” backspacing.

The 5” is actually for clearance with the rear shocks. With the 5.5” the tires just barely kiss the shocks in extreme situations. 5” avoids that, but makes tire clearance much more difficult.

Quick question - not sure if I am interpreting this correctly, but you are saying in 2014 or newer models, 2 - 2.5 shocks were creating issues for break lines and something else? I have a '14 with the 3" Pintop 2.5 Suspension system for my RAM 3500. Is there an adjustment or safeguard measure (fix) I should be making to my current system right now based on the above video? Sorry if that is confusing.

No the 2.0-2.5” shock trucks are totally fine. It’s the guys that were trying to stick 3.0 shocks on the front of their Ram with no other modifications that were having issues!

They are! Fox was closed for over 2 months but they’re back up and shipping shocks to Carli so the back order is getting smaller and smaller. King has been open almost the whole time, but had to operate at a reduced capacity so they’re running a bit behind schedule still. Everyone is doing their best to get things back on track!

With the 3500 air assist trucks your options are somewhat limited. You can either adapt a Carli leveling system to fit, or run the dedicated Carli pintop air assist system. Either way you lose zero payload or towing.

They do improve joint quality, flex, and make a slight improvement in ride as a result, but it’s not something that you’ll notice immediately in the driver’s seat. The radius arms are more of a cherry on top of the build type deal. We have an entire video dedicated to comparing the Carli fabricated radius arms to a factory arm on our channel!

Hi - got some conflicting information from your shop - it looks like the Dominator is compatible with the Trail Ready wheels (as seen in this video), but when I Called, they said the wheels are not compatible on the 2500, only the 3500, so I'm confused.

Believe it or not, some people don’t like the idea of having hacked up fender liners and/or sheet metal on their vehicle.

@@givnofuchs5742 You can always run a 35” tire for no trimming! The trimming necessary with a 37s is VERY minor and is invisible to the untrained eye. We aren’t talking about cutting exterior fenders or bumpers here. It’s just a minor trim of the fender liner plastic and maybe a touch off the pinch weld if necessary.

Got the Carli Pintop from CJC - Thanks Cole - and got it installed by. CDJR Salisbury, NC - Thanks Brandon, abd it is perfect system for long trips, off roading, daily driver and towing. Bought Method Racing wheels from CJC and chose the Fallen AT3 Wildpeak. We drove truck 8,000 miles prior to upgrading it to Carli, and Falken. We have now 12,000, so drove an additional 4,000 miles and the ride is simply better in every aspect. Fuel consumption has remained the same - was surprised... And Off roading - overlanding - towing and daily driving are absolutely excellent. Next step: solving for some under body armor and how to effectively and efficiently carry that 37 inch spare tire. Cole at CJC and Brandon Spenard - service manager at CDJR Salisbury have been top notch in helping build out dream truck. Thanks much and enjoy your build.

You can still build a solid set up that doesn’t break the bank though! A Thuren or Carli 3” Fox system offers some solid bang for the buck!

The front stock shock lower mounts don’t hold up, the coil bucket needs reinforcement for the coils and the rear upper shock mount doesn’t except a larger shock. That’s why you weld a few things.
