We live in the Brenne National Park in central rural France, not too far from the Chateau to be honest, an hour or so. A few years ago we had what we thought was a problem with some scotch pines on our land and we contacted Nick on the recommendation of others. He managed to allay our fears and educated us on the cycles of trees and in particular the scotch pines. No work needed, all fears gone. It struck me immediately how passionate Nick is about trees and his honest and kind approach made our interaction a pleasure. I’m so pleased to be able to watch this video and understand more about Nick and his passion for the natural world. Thank you, Nick 💚 lovely video.

How about mentoring young people to do the climbing. Please stop, I lost an uncle who didn’t know when to say he needed to give up climbing the trees. Still so much you can do. The world would be a sadder place without your gift.

Back last autumn / winter when you and Dan were clearing the woodland you explained how detrimental ivy was to trees. I had 7 precious metres of hedgerow which had been neglected for years and blocked my view of a Sussex field. Despite being 70 and in quite chronic poor health and it being January - I set about tearing all the ivy off my hawthorn trees, tugged, dug and heaved a whole load of old bits of fencing out, visited a trad local sawmill, arranged a Sussex Rail fence, ordered 7m mixed hedgerow plants, transplanted three blackthorns I had been growing on, and arranged for an arborist to trim the hawthorns. Voila ! 9 months on it looks like it’s been there for ages and has been home to lots of birds, moles, deer, hedgehogs. Last week in the field, a transiting White Stork was visible en Route to France !!! ALL THIS INSPIRED BY YOU NICK ❤🌳 never underestimate the effect of your words ! Hug 🥰

When I seen the movie the running man I said to my friend when we left the theatre. We are going to see a version of this in the future. She said What, I said tv shows about normal people. No more made up, but reality. When the 1st shows came out 20+ yrs ago, she reminded me of my prediction. I’ve made many others. Most recent the great Exodus, where those who came to the west will leave just as quickly. I won’t say anything more.

Hi Nick. What a pleasant surprise to see your new channel. Forestry education is an obligation that all countries should adopt in schools. Making the planting and renovation of degraded areas a controlled and common action. I live in Brazil and we have gigantic forests. Larger than several countries in Europe. They generate balance in the planet's climate. Unfortunately, there are many people who think that the abundance of trees we have here allows for uncontrolled exploitation. I know that we can even use these riches. But we have to replant the forests in the same way, and that is not being done. I love seeing you show your skills and knowledge to your colleagues in the renovation of the castle. Thank you for taking care of the forests and the environment. 🇧🇷🌳🌴🍀

We, in America, have our own issues with forests, trees, and pruning and caring for the trees. Folks, even those one pays, just guess, and have little experience or knowledge. In the west, no one has hedges or shaped trees. And we have few orchards. So we have lots to learn and to incorporate into our landscapes. So I'm sure lots of us are watching your work!
