Tumeric has curcumin.. Curcumin is essential for the body. Taking tumeric with some sort of fat allows the body to absorb curcumin by 2000%. My daily routine is taking a shot of; tumeric, black pepper, 1 tea spoon of avocado oil, half lemon, 2 tea spoons of apple cider vinager and water with a lil honey for taste .. Aside from that i also take all my daily vitamins with a peice of ginger and a raw garlic. It is important to crush or slice the garlic and let it sit approx ten minutes so it can produce allicin. This is non expensive and i do this every morning. Im 33 years old and havnt been sick in 15 years. My day is filled with good energy and i sleep great!

I'm happy to know this, because I am taking Turmeric daily with flaxseeds. I wanna say thank you, because your channel changed my life. I'm 50 years old, but looking 40. :) Share my Turmeric recipe here, basically it's a modified Keto cocoa, 1). MCT oil ( c8 100%) 1tbsp 2). Grass fed butter 1oz 3).Dutch processed cocoa powder 5g, 4).Turmeric 10g 5).ground Flaxseed 10g 6).200g hot water. Blending together. I usually make it in the morning together with my keto coffee, then put it in the refrigerator for dinner. I've been taking it for a year, and tried different Turmeric recipes. This one is the best for me, good absorption rate and tasty. Black pepper gave a lot of pain to my stomach. Coconut oil can make Turmeric tasty but it's not a good idea to take too much Coconut oil. These kind of topics and how you present it: marvelous. I just want to add 2 little things... First, there is a holy trinity of plants in the ginger family: curcuma, ginger, and galangal. Ginger is even stronger for pain relief and anti-inflammatory than curcuma. dried ginger also enhances metabolic base rate. Second, curcuma is known to activate the feeding =waste clearing potential of macrophages, without intesifying the inflammation on that path. thanks again, keep this up!

For me I started with a powder that I put in a veggie capsule so I could take the same amount everyday. First few doses gave me soft stools (sorry to be blunt but…) and kept increasing that effect so I backed off and let my body get used to it. So I took 1 every couple of days for a few weeks until I was at 1/day. I tried 2/day after a month and it was fine but when I added milk thistle and dandelion root to my regimen I backed down to 1/day again due to the side effects from all 3 products. All this to say, each person is going to tolerate it differently based on their health and what other things are in their diet. I believe turmeric is a great help to our body. If I get to 12 capsules per day, which is about one teaspoon I will probably stop there. That is about 5.5 grams. I do not think my body will tolerate more than that. Each person must self regulate their dose as no one else can as each body, their absorption level etc. and lifestyle is different. Cheers

However, I came across a couple of different news items that said significant amounts of lead that have been found in spices, turmeric being the one with the highest levels and the most abundantly available. The article said it was added to enhance color and add weight. The samples were purchased from stores like Whole Foods and other supermarkets. The article said the amounts found could pose a health risk, especially to children. My question for you is: Have you heard about this and, have you found out if there is any credence to these reports? After coming across these stories, I have stopped adding it to our food. if you don’t feel safe with the powder but still want the benefits then you should buy the actual turmeric root.

I was searching online and can't find my answer. Do you know which from of turmeric is best? I see turmeric, curcumin, and turmeric extract. Then I seen some seller saying they have BCM-95. My wife has very severe dry eye. She produces no tears whatsoever and we are hoping that this will help with the inflammation because she is in pain constantly and can't hardly go outside during daylight hours and I have moderate arthritis in my back and was hoping this could help with my lower back, but I don't know which one to buy. I was going to buy the powder and put them in capsules myself to save money. Thanks.

I'm sure most of you who watch T.D regularly are aware of this, but if you pause the video when Thomas refers to the studies, it is the curcumin within turmeric that is doing all this work. If you consume turmeric, black pepper is needed to help absorption, or you may buy a liquid liposomal curcumin product that gives you the curcumin directly. I buy mine through Dr. Amy Myers MD. It is excellent!!!

Does turmeric act as a blood thinner? Does it interact well or negatively with prescription blood thinners?
@thedarkknight2213 жыл бұрын
I've heard that it is, so you have to consider that if you are on blood thinners. Maybe small doses.

What do you think about turmeric supposedly being one of the highest oxolate-containing plants? Oxolates in high quantities (turmeric has very high levels) can cause gut inflammation and other issues which may negate some of the benefits of taking it. Maybe we'd be better off if we were taking an extract, perhaps?
@MoJams9013 жыл бұрын
you can purchase a liquid curcumin product through Amy Myers MD that is liposomal with high absorption that does not cause any gut issues for me.
@PatrickDAllen13 жыл бұрын
@@MoJams901 Oxolates are very water soluble. So if you did a fat-based extract (liposomal usually is), then oxolates should not be a problem. But turmeric also has other compounds that are beneficial too, not just curcumin. That's why it's tricky to just extract one compound from the plant and assume you have all the benefits. Turmeric is a complex plant. Look up the list of "active compounds" in Turmeric and the list is miles long. Curcumin just has the most research on it as an isolated substance.

Take magnesium citrate and you won't get kidney stones. It works! Also calcium binds to oxalates and will help excrete them

Yep, turmeric am good, use it daily. I've been wanting to try pork again, after years of not eating it. I like that they take good care of their animals. But not good with ingredients: "natural flavors" (what's that?), "water" (not filtered?), "sugar" (aka refined, bleck), "vinegar" (you mean, like what I clean stuff with?), and all the other non-organic ingredients (no indicators of being so).

Great, but what is the best source of turmeric? Best way to take it, right amount, best time, and what other ingredients, if any should it be consumed with for best absorption? What, if any, ingredients could hinder absorption, so you can avoid taking them along with turmeric?

Don't forget that it's a telomerase inhibitor. Not great for telomeres. Maybe some of its other benefits outweigh the shortening of telomeres but for now I choose other options besides turmeric. If I had cancer I would use turmeric but for now I really don't think telomerase inhibitors are a great choice for me personally.

Please note that in most, if not all of these studies, curcumin is used, not turmeric. Curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric, and is concentrated for supplement use. You would have to eat a great deal of turmeric to get the curcumin levels referred to in these studies.
