Going through your old builds on the channel…wow…so much detail on the engine and interior overall. Great work, very meticulous…

Thank you. Yes, I still have plans for a "repair scene" diorama for this one. I'm going to do another interior kit sometime soon too - they're really fun. I think the last I did was the Australian M3 Lee.

The quality of these kits is amazing as I used to make models 40 years ago and had to buy plastic extrusion and/or improvise. Love your work and process method. Can't wait to see the next installment.

Thanks Surin. You're right - the level of detail and the fact that it all (generally!) fits together is fantastic.

@@ModelNerd Thanks for stopping by, if you like it i highly recommend it for you. Tracks is a bit hustle(521 parts if i remember correctly) but i am a huge fan of "magic tracks", except that it is a good kit with 4 different variant options.

This is really great work. Extremely detailed and well executed. I think interior builds pose somewhat of a dilemma. So much work and detailed painting goes into them. Which really in my opinion begs the question if in the end cut outs should be used to view interior details, or build in a way that allows upper hull to be removable to easily showcase the interior. So far, out of the three interior builds that I have completed, one of the models upper hull is removable, another some cut away sections, and the third entirely sealed with open hatches.
@ModelNerd4 жыл бұрын
Hi Rick. I completely agree - I wouldn't want to seal all that work, effort, and detail into a permanently closed box. This kit will (eventually) be in a diorama with the tank turret being removed with a crane. I also have the RFM Panther with cutaway sections, which looks really nice.

I have King Tiger with Porsche turret w/zimmerit 1/35 scale from Takom to build.It will be my first full interior build.Since i don't have a airbrush (i painted all my models by hand,35 + so far), it's going to be a slow build for me.As for displaying the model,i probably go with 3 separate parts lined side by side on metal stilts or something similar.
@ModelNerd5 жыл бұрын
Nice - enjoy the build mate, it's a great kit. As I say in the video, I'd leave those engine side compartment walls out until after the engine is fitted if it's going inside. I reckon it'd be a tight squeeze otherwise. Have fun!

Really liked building the 1/35 Takom KT with interior myself, especially since it had a lot of nice details (currently working on a 1/16 full interior). How are you going to display the finished kit, im just one piece or in several seperated sections?
@ModelNerd5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a nice kit. A good question about the final display: I feel like it would be wasted just closed up. I think I am going to build the Takom Strabokran crane and have that lifting the turret off, and have the engine separate too, as in a maintenance scene.

I don’t know if you’ve already reached the point where the upper and lower hulls attach, but get ready for some fit issues.
@ModelNerd5 жыл бұрын
I've dry fitted the upper hull a few times and it looks "OK" - but it will definitely need holding in place while the glue sets as the sides tend to spread a bit.
@BonnKialStevens5 жыл бұрын
My build fit was horrible...had to spend some time filling, bending and cussing.

I built this kit last year and found it to be a complete dog!. Couldn't get my hulls to match up at all.
@ModelNerd5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've heard this from a few people. As I say, dry fitting mine looks like the fit isn't too bad. That said, not including the engine inside the hull might make things easier for me - that fit really does look tight. Certainly the two black & red primer fans (I think that's what they are) at the back didn't fit well.
@BonnKialStevens5 жыл бұрын
@@stickyweasel8837 Agree. Everything worked great except the critical hull fit.
