She makes sense though. There’s going to be a lot of people who use a large vocal range. This guy will have only one type of music and his range is limited. Idol is not for him. He deserves to be in a country competition where he can expand on different sounds because idol will pigeonhole him into one sound and style and he won’t be able to get out of it for years. He deserves better than that. She knows how Idol will ruin him.

Popular music has been dominated by Tenors for so long that a solid baritone/bass is almost an endangered species. It's refreshing to hear one. Send all of them to Hollywood. Discover them. Feature them. All the girls started trying to sing like Whitney to the point where the guys started trying to sing like the girls. Let's get some deep voiced men back up on that stage. Go back and listen to music from the 1940s and 50s.. in Burl Ives days. There were a lot of singers like him back then. Where did they go?!
