Thank you, Agnes. I still find myself gasping & tearing up a bit whenever they emerge. This will never NOT be amazing to me.

I have just a question. Do your Monarch butterflies born in Florida also migrate to Mexico? Friendly regards from Switzerland

Great question! There is a bit of controversy over Florida & the Monarchs because some feel that we Floridians are throwing a wrench into the migration situation. While most Monarchs do make a great journey to overwinter in Mexico, it seems that many are opting to overwinter in Florida now as well. We still have the tropical climate, very little "freeze" action going on in the winter, and plenty of viable plants to keep them fed. While I'm not entirely sure about the numbers, I do think it's likely that we keep a fair population here year-round, but I haven't personally seen any here (aside from these two releases) in a couple weeks now.

@@WingsOfWhimsy Thank you very much for your answer .... nowadays, migration locations change for some species of birds in Europe ... for example, many Western European white storks choose to stop in south of Spain, they no longer go to Africa .... but a downside, most feed on landfills. A short journey and a quicker return to the nesting place.... saving valuable time. I wish you a nice and peaceful weekend 🤗
