The Flashes are cutting it close, with their rescue of the would-be victim in the cover's image. Such a classic lineart style, that should not have been abandoned. The lightning “flash”, “CRAASH!”, that hits Barry looks very painful. But, being a cop, he can recover soon enough to run away from a car, two panels later 😛. Fun, and obviously historic first meeting between these two Flashes, and the comparing of their origins. Reinvigorating Jay to return to his hero role, coinciding with the character's return to publishing, served this part well, too.
