Tales of Xillia: Unused Artes/Voice Clips/Jank etc. (JPN/ENG)

Collection of unused voice clips and/or unused artes for Tales of Xillia. This is not complete but should cover the major ones.
For the voice lines that don't have a corresponding arte in the character's arte list I took the liberty to give it to them. For the ones that are completely different from any existing attacks in the game I assumed they are unused alternate clips.
Presa's Queen's Torment is not unused but the voice clip that I assume was going to be an alt for this arte is.
Wingal has an entire set of unused lines for almost his entire moveset, as for whatever reason they dropped all of them for Long Dau lines.
I know Nachtigal's line is Flutters Dim/Dread Wings, but he has Negative Gate in his arte list that goes unused, and it has these voice clips attached to it.
Maxwell's a bit odd, he has lines for all the mid tier spells, as well as chants but those don't go unused as he uses some of them for the high tier spells that he does have in-game. I also have no idea what Crush Liner/Crushing Beam is so I assumed it's an alt for Sonic Breaker.
Volt has nothing in his moveset saying Electric Wave so I just took Electro Crush. He also has an extremely unfinished Hi Ougi/Mystic Arte which is just a glitched Gouma Ryuushoudan/Resounding Surge.
Gilland and Celsius have two finished link artes that go unused in-game due to their behavior in the boss fight. Gilland is always set to be the leader, and the artes that link to these artes (Snare Shot and Merciless Trigger) are scripted and force him to always taunt afterwards.
They also have unfinished Hi Ougis.
Gaius and Musee have a functional unused link arte, Messouranga/Ruination Fangs. It links from Etherly Whip + Souryuu Rengazan/Dragon Swarm and the prompt even appears in their fight, however they never use it.

Yeah he does, I tried to think of any instances where he would use the animation but I do think it's entirely unused. I've looked at X2 files as well briefly and there's a whole lot that goes unused there as well. Though most of the interesting ones are a handful arte lines for Luds clones and the X1 unused ones getting new voice acting while still left unused.

HyoutaTools has a selection of tools to extract the Tales game files and convert them to a more readable format

@@Mechassault_Man This was done on emulator. HyoutaTools was only used to rip the voice files. If you want to mess with things in-game it's all possible to do by just memory hacking with Cheat Engine.

If I'm being perfectly honest, I think having these artes (if they had enough time) would make the characters much more interesting to fight. In my opinion, when it comes to combat, more is better, even if it's for the enemy.

Maybe Wingul having JP/ENG lines implies we would have fought him without his booster on, since it makes him speak Long Dau

That could be the case, though they're included in the same voice set as all his other lines. The game has multiple sets for characters that are for the most part copy pasted with the exception of a few special lines for specific fights (for example Milla's Spirit realm set, Alvin vs Jude and even Gaius has a separate set for the final boss encounter)

I always got the feeling they wanted to make some characters to be playable at some moment I could totaly see Presa,Wingul ,Jiao and Agria being playable at some point for a mission on their own,but they scraped it.

Either that or the Xillia system is so universally applicable that even the bosses are playing under the same rule as the player

@@AbstractReplayer This is it, enemies and players are effectively the same in this game. Many modern Tales went with this mentality for design probably a habit the team picked up having to develop a monster system for DOTNW and NDX lol The only bosses with playable character prefixes are Gaius and Muzet, so the others were very likely never intended to be anything more
