I saw Cobweb yesterday. It was not really scary, but I did like the acting and the story was good. It felt like a Grimm's fairy tale and the story switches to something a little crazy like Barbarian.

Saw this a few weeks ago in Regal mystery Monday movie. I enjoyed it. I liked that they spent time on character development. I liked that this was a new horror; it’s refreshing. My only few disappointments are the rules on the artifact by the end of the film and maybe the ending. Minor spoiler talk…. How is the dead able to manipulate what the person sees like she ended up sucking the friend’s toes/foot? Or the whole issue with the death of the mother? Is that even the mother real or just an evil spirit? By the end of the movie, I’m still not sure if it is the mother or she got corrupted or it is an evil spirit pretending to be the mother? It might be good discussion points, but I don’t like movies that are opened to interpretations.

I will say, when she is describing the feeling of being possessed she mentions something about just riding passenger and watching. I think she was just seeing the spirit instead of her body while being momentarily possessed

I agree with your assessment. The movie certainly has its shining moments but it is predictable at some places, it is not a great movie by any means but it is worth a watch.

Rented this movie tonight. At around 15 minutes in, I couldn't take it anymore. Not because it was scary, but because 90% of the movie consisted of teenagers on their cell phones! Then you got the white, black, asian trifecta; gotta get points with the DEI after all, right?? The first 20 minutes is the worst 20 minutes of a movie that I've ever seen, not just from an A24 film, but ANY film. I'm going to restart it here shortly, only because money was spent, but I hope to God it gets better.

Just got out of theatre and to be honest I expected more. Wasn’t scary. Kinda boring. I sat there expecting something to happen any “moment now” but nothing really happened. Only dread I seen really was the kangaroo in the road. My opinion. If you liked it, great! But I didn’t think it was good at all. 🤷🏻‍♂️
