Disappointed on the inaccuracies for the costumes this movie. Everyone knows that the soldiers on the Minnesota Front in the Great War were clad in Sorel boots and North Face jackets, a Springfield in one hand and a cup of Caribou in the other.

Is it? I thought it was a parody of how America fetishizes militarism through film, akin to Nazi propaganda films. I say this because the director grew up in Nazi occupied Holland and was very much influenced by his fear that America would become a fascist state; this is also a theme in Robocop Edit: they make reference to the fact that Starship Troopers seems like a propaganda film in this episode

Coronation Street is the oldest and premiered in 1960. The Archers technically is the oldest running British soap opera but thats radio and has been going since 1957. You guys definitely need to talk about some of the other Steven Luke movies, there are like two different ones specifically about the Battle of the Bulge and they’re both on par with this in terms of quality. My parents got suckered into buying one of them from a bargain bin of DVDs somewhere, and when we all sat down to watch it, we got about 10 minutes in before realizing it wasn’t a ‘real’ movie… how disappointed we were. Clearly the guy making these is someone passionate about history but you really just can’t make movies about these kinds of things when you’re on such a shoestring budget. And spending what little budget you DO have on getting people like Ron Perlman or Tom Berenger just to try and give your film an air of “legitimacy” just isn’t worth it in the long run. I think you can find some of his other works here on KZbin for free.

As a Canadian I can say that Pachendale is not a good movie. It had great potential but instead of Saving Private Ryan or Band or Brothers we got Beaches. Director and writer Paul Gross can’t seem to help himself he always needs to turn it into a romance movie. Did the same thing with Hyena Road.
